A comment on the question "A couple of suggestions" in Yola:
Thanks about the really prompt response. Yes, "Save and preview" would be great, but cannot substitute "Save and publish". I guess there are many people like myself who automate creation of their pages. For example, I would test out the look and feel of a published "test page" first, create suitable tools to replicate the look and feel, and then churn out pages by the dozen. Naturally I would not care to preview each of these. I just KNOW how they are going to look, because they are already tested in my machine. Even a single extra click per page would be rather time consuming when the number of pages is large.
Also, as I had mentioned, I would love to be able to modularise my php's into folders. – Arnab Chakraborty, on August 31, 2009 09:25

Anti-phishing suggestionHi Yola,
Many people (including myself) are not happy with the fact that Yola does not allow uploading of html files to the file manager. The html widget-copy-and-paste method is not very pleasant to people with many html pages. Yola's point regarding this is that uploading html would allow phishing--a point that is hard to deny.
Now, here is one suggestion to get out of this dilemma. A potential phisher needs to mimic some existing website (eg. a bank's website). It is easy to do if one is allowed full control over the html file being used. But Yola can restrict this by forcing a harmless banner somewhere near the top. Not some advertisement, just something that one would typically not find in standard webpages. To avoid jarring a webbuilder's aesthetic sense, this banner may be chosen by the builder himself/herself from a fixed set of banners. The banners may be something like icons of flags of different countries. The point is that EVERY USER
should be forced to display a small but conspicuous banner like this somewhere near the top of the page.
Then Yola can allow one to upload html files. Every time there is a request for this file the Yola server would append this banner before serving the page. And if some user really objects to have a banner, then he/she should not be allowed to upload html files.
May be the solution is not this simple, but just wondering if something may be done along this line.

A couple of suggestionsHi,
I am new to yola, but have already started loving it! Especially the "upload zip and then unzip" feature.
I have two suggestions to improve yola:
1. It would be nice if we can keep the php files in separate folders each with its own "resources" subfolder.
2. At present "uploading" a html file takes too many steps: first we have to drag the html widget, then copy and paste the file contents, then click OK, then save, and then click on publish settings, and then click on republish. It would help if you please provide a shortcut button like "save & publish" right inside the html widget (which now shows only "OK" and "Cancel").
Thanks a lot.
