Boomer replied on November 20, 2009 19:21 to the question "How do a website's new page get number 1 in google within minutes of adding that new page?" in Yola:
I read somewhere that, the first time you publish your site is "the best it will ever be".
It starts at PR0 and goes down after that if you do not work at promoting it.
It's a bit like treading water... If you stop... you sink. Hope that makes sense and I'm not even sure if my analogy is correct. That's just the way I visualise it.
You got to keep swimming and swimming (SEO) to reach the rocks before you can start climing up that cliff. The step from PR0 to PR1 is double and to get to PR2 is double PR1 etc. etc. So....to move from let's say PR2 to a PR3 is a massive step.
And...if my reasoning is correct a PR3 site would therefore be 8 times more "popular" than a PR0 site, and a PR4 site would be 16 times more "popular" etc. etc.
Am I correct in my reasoning Emmy?

You don't need to wrap code in these things <!-- CODE -->
You just have to use this thing... http://forsite.synthasite.com/encoder... – Boomer, on November 18, 2009 23:44

Yes, thanks for clarifying Monique. I'm sure other users who come across this problem will find this thread interesting in the future.
Just a thought, why not remove the option of entering the meta tag on all the other pages in the site builder? – Boomer, on November 17, 2009 18:31

You know John, I couldn't find that thread where you reported the same problem, that's why I started my own. I knew you guys had been through it and would help.

No, I didn't Emmy. I just did the index page and it updated the whole site.
Thanks to John for pointing it out, else I would have saved that job for a rainy day. – Boomer, on November 17, 2009 17:29

I just changed to the new tag on one of my index pages and ... presto!
The whole site updated to the new tag and Webmaster verified the site.
Thanks guys, and thanks for pointing that out, John.
Now, I'm going to change one of my keywords from "accommodation" to "accomodation", or maybe I should use "cavery", who knows, I could be 12th, Lee :)
Boomer replied on November 17, 2009 15:30 to the problem ""Verification failed. Your meta tag is incorrect."" in Yola:
Because my page layout is the same on most of my pages I use the "save page as" feature a lot, therefore the "old" tags are on all of my pages :(
I'll have to go through every page on all the sites to delete the old tags.
I don't trust just changing the index page to the new tag and leaving the old tags on the other pages.
I forgot to mention, I tested 3 different sites in 3 different Google Webmaster accounts and they are all reporting the same problem.
Boomer reported a problem in Yola on November 17, 2009 15:01:
"Verification failed. Your meta tag is incorrect."I've been waiting anxiously for Google to recrawl my site to pick up all the new pages I've added over the last few weeks. I just discovered that my site was crawled a week ago, on the 9th of November, and Googlebot only picked up "my old" 75 pages. I have added more than double that since the last crawl. Yikes...Google is seeing less than half my site!!
I had a look at my site map (the one that Yola generates) and every thing is in order and up to date. I then went over to my Webmaster account and found that none of my sites are verified anymore, and when I try and verify them I get the error: "Verification failed. Your meta tag is incorrect."
I checked the meta tags I have on some of my sites and they all now differ from the ones that Google wants me to use. What do I do now? Do I change all the meta tags on all my sites to the new ones and try reverify?
My other problem is that I have my meta tags on all the pages on my sites (not only the index Page). If I change the one on the index page, how does it work if I have the "incorrect" one on all the other pages??

Boomer replied on November 14, 2009 10:42 to the question "Out of control HTML Editor Widget!" in Yola:
Hi Rob,
I have never had this problem before, but then again, I only use the HTML editor for everything, even text. The only time I ever use the text widget is for adding spaces.
Is it not possible, Rob, to format and place the text in an HTML widget so that it looks the same as if it were done in the text widget?? This would be a work around until one of the engineers have a look at this.
The other thing I forgot to mention, is that I always keep each snippet of code in a seperate HTML widget, as you described above. I find it easier to manage this way,
and it always seems to work first time for me.
I'm not going to try replicate your problem, as I would not normally do things this way around. I agree, if there is a bug, it needs to be sorted out, but for now, just stick to the HTML editor if you want to use this particular piece of code.

@ Donald. It can be any colour you like.
Only the red strip across the top of the page will change, the rest of the page will remain white. You could even create one long image with a logo in it if you want.
The image would have to be 80px (77px to be exact but 80 will work too) high by the length of the widest screen resolution you would like to cater for. It would repeat othewise. I would make it about 77px by 2000px. The logo or image would have to to be on the left hand side somewhere.
You will also need to pull all the pages "out of the menu" else they will display over the image.
