Frostbytez replied on November 03, 2009 10:34 to the question "rejected by google adsense" in Yola:
"- Your website must be your own top-level domain (www.example.com and
not www.example.com/mysite).
- Your domain must have been registered and active for at least 6
months. before you apply for AdSense."
You currently have a sub-domain, Sub domain is for example:
www.mysite.yolasite.com, a Top-Level domain is www.mysite.com or mysite.org etc
Frostbytez replied on November 03, 2009 10:06 to the question "No home page" in Yola:
Steve, this is due to keywords on your webpages.
On the properties of your homepage in "Keywords/Meta" enter:
wirral-fisheries
wirralfisheries
Then google will re-crawl the site and find the keywords putting the your homepage link first.
Also: You can further optimize keywords by adding "Welcome to wirral-fisheries.com" on your homepage.
Good luck,
-Jonathan
Frostbytez replied on November 03, 2009 10:01 to the problem "My Index page wont load at all! Help please!" in Yola:
This issue can be caused by 3RD Party integrations such as Chatboxes, Widgets, Shotuboxes, Forums, Comments etc.
It waits for a response from the server where your widget/integration is located at, If you receive no response from the server then it will cause it to time out.
For example:
I am looking on Google for a shoutbox that has HTML integration, I find one from a 3RD party site, I put the HTML code on my site and i try to load my page. If the server of the widget is unreliable or slow then my site will not load either.
If that is not the issue then maybe you have DNS issues with the widget server/Yola server.
Try the following:
Clear your cache (It's stored up files that are made to make pages load faster)
You can clear your cache in firefox by click on Tools > Clear Private Data > Check "Cache" only then press clear or by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + R at the same time on your web page.
Flush your DNS by doing the following:
Press start (On Windows XP) or press the windows logo in the left bottom corner (Windows vista & 7) then to the right of all your programs there is a dialog named "RUN", Click it once. Then type in "cmd" in the box without quotes, then once you are in the command box which is black type "ipconfig /flushdns" without quotes and press enter then try to access your site.
Command prompt notes: You cannot use CTRL+V to paste what i have told you to write in the command prompt, You have to right click in the command prompt and Press PASTE.
Feel free to reply here if you have any problems during my steps.
Regards,
-Jonathan
Frostbytez replied on November 03, 2009 09:52 to the idea "Membership" in Yola:
Minimia,
It is very unlikely for this to be added to Yola.
It really depends what kind of membership you will offer, Yola can't make every single type of membership type there is, For example a user starts a book store and wants users to be able to pay online and have a panel for shipping/payments etc, Yola isn't responsible for making a custom membership script for that.
However I'm sure they can add something universal that is configurable.
Also, One thing that can have membership is forums. (I believe some users have already integrated forums into their site.

I'd highly recommend you use Firefox,
It's an open-source internet browser that's trusted by millions of people around the world, Not only is it stable but developers make the most for that certain browser.
You can get :
Themes
Plugins
Ad-blockers
Tons of stuff with Firefox in the extension directory.
You can find firefox at:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/...
Reasons to switch:
Internet explorer sometimes may seem it does the job for you, it "might" do the job but other browsers do it faster and better.
Internet Explorer is actually very unstable, on 10 computers I've seen it crash every time the person visited any website with flash/JS content.
Internet explorer is vulnerable to Malware/Viruses 87% more than all other browsers!
How is it vulnerable?
1. Active-X Exploits/Malware
2. "Reported attack site" notifications are not on IE (Only on firefox)
3. Malware can auto-install on Internet explorer without your consent.
Remember, It's all about the user.
You can stick with Internet explorer but enlighten the facts that Firefox is better.

Great work, a good informational guide!
I can post a bit about search engines myself.
Search Engines are bots that crawl the web for data. names titles etc.
The 2 most powerful bots are:
Google
Bing
As your site is up it has a list of domains provided by icann.org the main domain register and it goes through the list and if it finds the domain is valid it retrieves all data it can.
That's part of how a search engine works :)
Frostbytez replied on June 27, 2009 07:16 to the idea "Synthasite should get this" in Yola:
Shaq, Get AVG 8.0 Its free and good.
The problem your having is due to software you may have installed.
When Spyware.Marketscore is installed on a computer, it starts a proxy service. Once this service runs, all the Internet connections will be routed through the Marketscore's proxy (OSSProxy).
One of the 2 is happening,
1. You found a nice program and it had the spyware bundled up with it.
2. You set your browser to run through a proxy which makes it come up.
Get AVG 8.0 Scan your entire PC and tell us the results.
Good luck.

Frostbytez replied on June 24, 2009 19:53 to the question "why???" in Yola:
When you search from the regular site (Not co.uk) yours comes out first since it has nothing else to find with the keywords "hexham" so if yours is indexed it will show up first.
However on .co.uk there will be more results since Hexham is in the United Kingdom, Such as a hotel example: Luxury hotel and there located in hexham they also have a website. They're keywords are "Hexham". Say they bough a Yahho! Directory listing then they will be on top.
Frostbytez replied on June 24, 2009 19:47 to the idea "Share your Promotion Methods?" in Yola:
I use lots of things,
Special sites that list my service,
Twitter
StumbleUpon
MakeUseOf
And since they've been on those sites other sites have been adding my listings,
like .blogspots etc.
Promotion isn't that big of a hassle, Its easy if you do it in the right way.
My stats climbed high. And i got accpeted by a advertising company named
"UnderDog Media" i love them because they pay per view. Not clicks.
Here's my stats on there site. The meter at the side counts the views.
