Paul Caspall asked a question in Yola on November 16, 2009 01:03:
Submitting Site to GoogleSubmitted my site url to Google Webmasters about a week ago, including a Sitemap.
So far...nothing. It doesn't come up on a google search. The older synthasite version does though: www.aconitejewellery.synthasite.com
I'm at a complete loss as to what to expect at this stage. The Google Webmasters page tells me the site has not been indexed. OK, so how long does it take? When should something happen?
Their Help pages just send me around and around in circles, because there is nothing to tell me precisely what to expect and when to expect it.
All I currently know is that if I google aconitejewel.com it's basically not listed on Google.
Am I missing something?
Or do I have to wait a month for something to happen?
Something? Anyone???

Paul Caspall asked a question in Yola on November 10, 2009 21:31:
Website Page Tabs Colour ConsistencySomething I've noticed with the menu page tabs of my site is that the tabs change colour from pink to purple for the menu page that the user has selected. This is good as it helps the user see which main section of the site they are in.
But...
Should they select any sub-page within that section, the tab colour reverts to pink, and they lose the instant ability to see which main section they're in. Not so good and a design flaw.
Is there a way to adjust this so that the menu tab colour stays highlighted (purple) for subpages of a section, and not just the initial menu pages?
Go to www.aconitejewel.com to see what I'm talking about.
Cheers
Paul

Hi Pete
I think I have my head around most of that.
But how come some Yola users firmly believe that their banners load first? Different style of banner/layout?
Is there nothing I can do? (Other than increasing the number of pages while decreasing the number of items per page to load?)
Have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed. This is one of the few things out of my control and the result is a negative. I'm a perfectionist and this doesn't compare favourably with most other websites.
But thanks for your explanation.

Transfer Domain to YolaI have a domain name registered and parked at cheap-domainregistration.com for "aconitejewellery.com".
What is the easiest way to have that transferred over to Yola? And what is the benefit to me if I opt for the $19.95/year deal? Currently my site is here as www.aconitejewellery.synthasite.com, but it's ready now for the official url to be used.
Thanks

Thanks.
I just managed to get into my site to save a pic.
Have checked the following things already:
Cache cleared.
Checked that cookies accepted from Yola and that Java is enabled.
Tried using IE as well as Firefox - same issues using both.
Haven't contacted ISP as this issue is 95% with Yola (for some reason). But when I restart the computer, it works again.
Sounds more like it's something glitching on my computer? Can you recommend anything? I recently installed the latest version of AVG Fee anti-virus - could that be doing it?
Maybe I should try a System Restore?
Cheers
Paul
