A tool that measures how well your site is optimized for search engines

this gave me 40 out of 100.
And i dont really see a reason why even 40?
My site is still almost blank!!
I have hardly 20 visitors in last 15 days.. all of them are my friends that too just to check the look or functionality of any tool.
I had expected that it would give me something in negative!!!

So i m not sure how perfect their way of measurement is !!!

I get 27 out of 100
Feels like I'm back at school !! ha ha

as i said even in the last post, i really dont understand their way!!
Can you believe they gave me 40, and my site is almost blank till now!!
(i m busy on working database, which is saved on my PC!!)
I have all the pages which are literally blank except home, contact us and disclaimer..
And guess what!! they cud track only 3 pages, home+2 blank page..
they didnt even notice my well done pages!! LOL

And yeah, i have NO meta tags, not even description, Not even content on my website till now..

I actually finally used this thing. My score was a 20. Only place to go now is up! No key words, no Meta tags. Then again, alot of what I am working on isn't published or hooked up yet. Then again, I did get good scores for loading speed on the other thing.

Ok, now there is a Problem. I added a description and I also added Key words. I then ran my url http://hobbiesaboutus.synthasite.com
Through that website grader and it says No description, and No keywords! Yet when I view source on my page the description is there as well as the Keywords! What is going on? I also notice other gobbledy gook above the Head in my source. Is that interefering?

I still don't get it. That website grader STILL does not see my description or key words. It still gives me a 20. This is important for the small search engines. Something is askew. Either with that grader or here with how I put in the description and key words, or how synthasite's system operates. If anyone else looks at my page and views source, can you see the key words and description?

I ran my site again through that websitegrader and this time I scored 37. Up 17 points from 20. It actually found the keywords this time on TWO of my pages. Although the major search engines no longer use key words in meta tags for placement because that method was abused in the past. (Or so I have read) So why websitegrader uses keywords in meta tag as part of your site grade, I have no idea. I also had this caution.

I've seen your site before, but never ran it through Site Grader until now.
I see you do get a 37 and I'll definetly list your site next time.

I started the site http://www.forsite.synthasite.com/ just for fun, and thought
it would be nice for everyone to get a turn to have their sites showcased, instead of just the four featured sites that synthasite shows once a month.

I noticed a lot of people were wanting links to their sites and were participating on some threads in this forum that are growing very long and confusing.
My idea was to randomly select 20 sites once a week and put them on my site.
The sites I've chosen so far are from people who are the most vocal and participating on this forum - (Sorry Thrundar I slipped up on you there).

If anyone wants me to list their sites they can get hold of me on this forum or on my Website and I'll try my best to list them as soon as possible.
I'm pretty busy as I have my own business (10 Years) and am also building
three other sites with Synthasite and the only spare time I have is in the evenings (when I'm not partying that is) , so please be patient with me.

I don't know why Site Grader looks for keywords as I've also read that Google no longer regards these as important, but I think that some other search engines still may. The only reason I used Site Grader was to have some sort of a benchmark to list the sites. I'm going to stop using Site Grader because
I think its unfair on some great looking sites. All said and done though I still think Site Grader is a wonderfull tool - Read their website marketing tutorial.

I know this is quit a long answer but you guys have to be patient with me - it takes a long time to take screenshots of your sites, crop and scale them, upload them to my site, arrange them and then provide the link.

I have also linked my site http://www.forsite.synthasite.com/ on a few other internet forums that are discussing the "pros and cons' of Synthasite, so you should be getting inbound links from other places besides this forum.
It can only benefit us all.

Once you've run your site through the grader, click on copy badge.
Copy the code they provide you with into a HTML widget on the
page you would like to display it on in your website.
