To add a video from YouTube, follow these few simple steps:
1) Open the "video" folder on the right hand side of the screen and drag and drop a YouTube icon onto your page.
2) In the properties sidebar on the right, click on the "browse YouTube" link
3)Browse YouTube for the video you want to embed in your site
4) Copy the URL for the video from your browser
5) Paste the URL over the default URL in the properties sidebar in SynthaSite. Hit "enter" and then click "apply"
A YouTube video will then be embedded in your web page!

Inappropriate?can i add a media player to my website?
-
Inappropriate?Hi alphaboy
Which media player would you like to add to your site? Since I am not sure, I am going to send you the instructions to add a Windows Media player:
1) Go to: https://secure.burtonhosting.com/help...
Download and copy the HTML embed code for the player.
1) In SynthaSite drag and drop an HTML widget onto your page from the sidebar on the right.
2) Paste the embed code over the default tags in the editor.
I hope this works for you. Let me know if you run into any difficulties.
Best wishes

***My QUESTION***
-I have followed these steps and have the Windows Media Player On the site.
-I used SynthaSite(s) File Manager to upload a ".wmv" video I would like to play in the media player.
-I added the "file name of the .wmv videos to the embedded Windows Media Player HTML code; in 2 locations within the code.
???---- What am I missing? How can I get the .wmv videos to play in the Windows Media Player? -
Inappropriate?is there a way to align the video? center? left? right? in such a way that text flows around it?
thanks
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Hi Babak
Your best option here is to use the two column layout widget.
Drag and drop the two column layout widget onto your page. You can then drop the video widget in the one column and the text in the other.
Drag the green center axis of the widget to resize the width of the columns and drop additional two column layout widgets inside eachother to increase the number of columns.

Inappropriate?Monique, thanks for the feedback but I found a more elegant solution on my own. Here it is applied to an image, but you can equally apply it to anything:
[[img style="float:right; margin-left: 20px;" src="URL" alt="blee blee" title="Blablah"]]
where 20 stands for the margin in pixels
URL =URL
and the gobbledeegook is the alt and title tags
if you want to change it up, switch right/left, etc.
whooop!
ps for some reason the code tags are not working so substitute [[]] for <>
I’m happy

Thanks for this. It is great that you could use code to get the perfect solution. Thank you for sharing this trick. Get Satisfaction will try to interpret any HTML that you paste, so I am glad to see you managed to find a workaround. -
Inappropriate?yesh, um i sorta dont get it... so... the "defalt URL" im sopposed to delete it and then paste the URL of the new one or keep it there? and hehehe... im sorta dumb...were is the URL in youtube?
I’m dont get it.
-
Inappropriate?I sorta dont get it...so....the URL of the "defualt URL" im sopposed to just delete it and paste the new URL in the box or just leave it there? oh and....hehehe What is theURL? like were can i find it on youtube?
I’m Chowder
-
Hi Chowder - on when you're viewing the video on youtube, you copy the url at the top of the browser. Back in your SynthaSite, in the Properties of the video widget, you delete or paste over the default URL and click on 'Apply' at the bottom and your video will load! -
Inappropriate?Chowder, for an image, the url would be the location of the image file. For a youtube video, it would be the location of the swf file. For each youtube vid you can look up the embed code.
for a video you also have to use these attributes:
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="330" height="280"
as well, you can't use "img" cause it isn't an image, you use, [[embed]] tags
just add the style="float:right; margin-left: 20px;" to make it stick to one side or the other that's all
if you still don't get it, go to http://rendur.com/ and play around with the code until you do, that's how you learn!
good luck little guy!
I’m silly

Inappropriate? How do i put up one of my own videos?
-
We don't currently have a tool that allows you to upload your video and play it on your SynthaSite. But I can suggest an alternative: upload your video onto another website like Youtube or Google Video and then add one of those widgets to your page on SynthaSite and browse for your uploaded video. -
what is posted down below ayoutube embed code:
" -
Ignore the above....:((
Replace any youtube embed code's embed source and value e.g. (one in quotations) embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZmQ_lnNO8e0&hl=en&fs=1&"
with the location of the video IN YOUR COMPUTER.
e.g.C:\Users\Sandy\Videos\Assembly.wmv
Now, you put in the HTML Editor -
Steven - thats not going to work, it may show on your computer but not through the internet.
I like this site to add videos to my sites http://www.freevideocoding.com/

Inappropriate?Hi Siobhan,
Do you get any error messages when trying to paste the video URL? You would need to paste the URL over the default URL in the properties sidebar in SynthaSite.

Can you email us, support@synthasite.com with the embed code that you are using and we will have a look for you. -
Inappropriate? Can I embed my custom Video player from youtube on my webapge? Thanks DaleL
-
Inappropriate? What I do, is that on youtube, veoh, etc... is I get the embed code that is usually under or to the side of the video, and put it in an html box on my website. You should automatically have the video up, and be able to modify the size if it's too big or too small.

Inappropriate?Yes I uploaded a video ...my video to my Website....I dont like the advertising and other videos or better thumbnailes of other videos on my site. How can I show my video only....with no advertising on the end??????
-
Hi Romy - can you post a link to your page with the video so that we can see what you mean? -
Inappropriate?Thank you Marije for responding I written back yesterday an e-mail to you
I deleted the Video from our Website because my husbund did not like afterwards them Thumbnails and video from others on our Web page as advertising. Now I put the Video back on so you can see what I mean...I leave it only there for one day until I find out how to put a video to my Webpage without them things afterwards...only our Video.
thank you for looking at my Problem... Our Website is http://www.namoivalleyaquafarming.syn... , then scroll down our Homepage until you get to: come and see our Codfeeding Demonstration...click it and watch the video and see after the thumbnails of other videos
cheers Romy
I’m thankful
-
Hi Romy - those thumbnails you see at the end of the video are part of usage of the service. If you visit Youtube, you'll see that they also show thumbnails as the end of a video. If you want to remove them, I suggest contact Metacafe Support to find out if it can be done (www.metacafe.com)
