blog rss feed compatibility and errors
How do I make changes for my blog feed to assure wider interoperability. Here is the blog feed from my Yola blog page: http://www.amajorc.com/blog.rss
Is Yola addressing the changes for interoperability?
I ran it on http://validator.w3.org/feed/ and got the following:
This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.
* Your feed appears to be encoded as "UTF-8", but your server is reporting "US-ASCII" [help]
* line 19, column 1406: description should not contain relative URL references: resources/A%20Major%20logo.png (12 occurrences) [help]
... t;

^
* line 21, column 8: item should contain a guid element (10 occurrences) [help]

^
* line 121, column 0: style attribute contains potentially dangerous content: widows (3 occurrences) [help]

< ...
* line 124, column 4: Missing atom:link with rel="self" [help]

Thanks,
Toby

Inappropriate?Hi Toby,
Your best option for improving your blog feed is by formatting your blog posts in accordance with W3C recommendations. This would address the "style attribute contains potentially dangerous content" warning mentioned in your original message. Be careful not to paste content directly from Microsoft Word as this often contains invalid content. You can find some helpful hints in this tutorial.
You unfortunately cannot address the remaining improvements yourself. The feed generator itself will have to be modified. We want to ensure the best possible interoperability for your Blog RSS so I will log these as potential improvements.
Thanks for your feedback.
