Inappropriate?I believe that this aspect has changed now since then. We are no longer able to upload .js files. Sorry Monica.
-
Inappropriate? But there are lot of useful things which wouldn't be possible in this case!
I want to add a 'bookmark us' button.
Want to add a JS to prevent people from stealing my stuff from the site..
Any alternative to this?
I’m feeling lost

Inappropriate?Hi Monica
Here's a thread that suggest a way to make a bookmark. Perhaps this may be a good alternative for you?

Also.. you can always add snippet of javascript code to your site by using the HTML widget box.
Another alternative is to use another file hosting company and then link to your .js file. -
but as far as i know file hosting companies do not provide a direct link to your file, right? Like rapidshare gives some temporary url to reach the file.. -
As I have never done this, I don't know the answer to that one. I am assuming that there are some file hosting companies who would allow you to direct link. I'll look around and get back to you on this. -
Inappropriate? Here's some free file hosting companies with direct linking allowed but I cannot attest to how good they are:

Whoopeeeeeee! thanks alot :) -
I hosted a .js file on hotlinkfiles a while back.
It only allowed me access for about a day
before it stopped working. Dunno why??
I never looked into it because I stopped using the file.
Maybe you have better luck. -
P.S. Nice to have you back Monica !! -
Inappropriate?Hi Monica
Yes - sorry about this one. I remember the last time you were building sites with us we did allow .js uploads. These files allow you to do all sorts of useful things and we would love to support this option. However, the sad reality is that they also make it too easy for internet criminals to create phishing sites. We had a number of these sites being created, which caused big problems for us, and for the sake of security and the integrity of our service we had to make the tough call to restrict these uploads.
We would love to innovate to find a solution to allow people who want to do this for legitimate purposes, but unfortunately there isn't an obvious way to make this possible right now.
Hopefully one of the services that Littleus has suggested will work for you.
