Confusion robots = crawling?
Hi I have put adsense on my site but google tells me I have a robot file problem causing blocked urls. From what I have read on here I dont need a robot and I havent put one on. Problem is my ads for adsense are not relevant to my site and Im wondering if this is why ?because it hasnt been crawled ? Im being told by google I should ad robot to my Domain ?
Also Im still getting sitemap warning not being indexed because of no priorty settings could this all be related ? strange thing is when I do a search for my site the pages come up does this mean they are indexed or is this due to meta tags, not crawling ? Im confused if there is a problem with sitemap when will it be fixed thanks

Hi it is nurserygreen.com -
Inappropriate?Sorry that this is all a bit confusing:
If you could post the exact warning message you are getting from Google. My guess is that the pages that Google is unable to crawl are your preview URL's. These are the long URL's you see in your browser window when you preview your page. If so this is nothing to worry about. We do have a robots.txt file that blocks Google from indexing unpublished sites. This in no way interferes with your advertising revenue or Google's ability to return relevant ads.
Google ads tend to become more relevant over time as you add more content and as Google "learns" what your site is about.
Here is a link to another thread where Chris (one of our reps) gives an excellent explanation of that sitemap warning:
http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite... -
All the URLs in your Sitemap have the same priority.
All the URLs in your Sitemap are set to the same priority (not the default priority). Priority indicates the importance of a particular URL relative to other URLs on your site, and doesn't impact your site's performance in search results. If all URLs have the same priority, Google can't tell which are more important. Help Problem detected on: Nov 4, 2008
Hi monique thanks you could be right about robot file. Here is the warning for sitemap. -
Hi again think we all sorted now thanks -
Inappropriate?Hi Tamsin,
I like your site; a vegetable garden is my goal for next summer! Looking at the ads on your site, they do look relevant to the content to me.
Check out this link http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=KpC&q=site%3Awww.nurserygreen.com&btnG=Search, it tells us that these are the pages of your site that have been crawled and indexed by Google... a very good sign.
One thing I would suggest would be to give each of your pages a unique title and description tag, this is a search engine optimization strategy. This can be done in the Properties section of each of your pages within Synthsite. A unique title and description tag will tell the search engines what the web page it is crawling is about, and hopefully help them place the most relevant Ads on your pages.
If you would like a little intro. to search engine optimization check out this article I wrote on my Synthasite, E-Learn About. SEO Checklist Part I. Hope this helps a bit.
Take care,
