Delete banner and border background
Instead of changing the banner I would like to be able to delete it. Here's my problem: I would like a page with a border around it--kinda like the red bubbles in Get Satisfaction. If I use something like burlap--I can't get rid of the banner. If I use something like squeaky clean the background image is all over--that is the middle part where I would put my content is not white but shows the image, making things difficult to read. The new background editor I thought would work but you can only put it down or across one side not as a border around the whole page (unless I'm missing something?) I could do it in html or css but then I would have to put everything in that way, and I just don't know it that well yet. Anyone have any suggestions?

All great suggestions! Thanks everyone!
I would just like to add that I have sent a request through to our design team for a style along the lines of what Diane has requested. Hopefully we can create something specifically for your needs in an upcoming release.

Inappropriate?Hello Diane,
I can see what you are looking to do. With styles such as Burlap and Tastelessly, the banner area is set by the style so cannot be completely removed. You can put a solid color there if you want to, but not get rid of the space completely.
Something you could do is create an entire banner image with border and a white center where the text would go and use a style like Squeky Clean. Possibly that would work for you.
I will put this forth to our team as a feature request for a style with a removable banner image area.

Inappropriate?Wow, I'm so impressed how fast you are at answering questions! I did consider making a whole image in photoshop--guess I'll have to do that for now. But that particular feature would be great. Banners are a bit passe on the web these days.

Inappropriate? If you want nothing in the banner area you could make your image a transparent one the exact size of the banner area...Just save as a png type file.

Inappropriate?Hi Diane
I love John's idea regarding the transparent banner!
Another option is to make tables or div boxes to make your text stand out against your background image. That's what I've done for my site. You can see this at http://littleus.yolasite.com
Here's one other possibility (thanks to Alex, another user on this forum). If you have access to an imaging program, you can create a background with your border on the side and the white box in the middle. You'll have to play around with it to get the right dimensions. Then, upload the image to your file manager. Now.. thanks to the new page design tools, you can then select your background image to not scroll with the page. So, if you set up the background dimension properly, then all your text in the "content area" should show up against the white background. If you want to see an example of this, please take a look at Alex's site - http://sportie.yolasite.com
Please feel free to ask further questions if needed. =)
