Inappropriate?Hello A.
What options are you wanting? I may be able to point you into the correct direction. -
For one I didn't want to use the blog widgets on Yola's Blog pages for the posts, they are bland... I guess Some kind of embedded Blog widget or something, but it's ok I think I'll just stick with the way I have it, I just thought I could embed a blog into my page or something IDK... Some kind of template, I'm lost... lol thanks though... -
Thats Find, You known you can edit the colors (text), add images, select how many posts appear, ect.. -
Inappropriate?Word Press is free also and has about every option possible....Some here have used it and have links from their Yola site to their Word Press blog.
-
Oh so just redirect my page to another site... -
Do you have your site published? Maybe some of us can take a look at what you are trying to do and come up with ideas...There are some pretty talented people here on the tech side of site building. -
Inappropriate?Hi A
The basic blog template on Yola is a guide, but you can do pretty much anything with it.
Did you know that you can remove any of the blog widgets you don't want in your Yola blog? Just click the "x" on the right of the widget grab bar to delete. You can also add any of the site building widgets that are available for a normal webpage. Just click the blue "back" button to gain access to the other widgets:

If you decide to use another blogging engine, like Wordpress, you will have to link to it from your site. However, once we know a little more about your requirements, we might be able to suggest something Yola has to offer. -
Inappropriate?I have a solution i think.
Create your blog in the engine you prefer and then port it through a widget onto your page. Widgetbox have such a widget they call theirs Blidget. You can place it wherever you like on your page. there's a basic free one and an upmarket paid for one.
I know a lot of users don't like the branding of widgets and that's something for a user to deal with. (the paid for version loses the brand tag). The blidget functions cleverly. Post titles and summaries are displayed. The post numbers can be determined in the setup. If there's a post of interest, simply clicking on the content and you will be transported directly to the parent blog. From there you're back in familiar territory. It's a neat gadget for such ideas. Another thing is that some people have pulled in a number of different blogs onto a page or site using that number of blidgets to port each wanted blog onto their page.
Finally the Blidget also allows you to display your blog on any other page you like within the same website. So you may have your blog page somewhere in your Yola site but then decide to bring it out to another relevant page. The blidget does this well. -
LOL@ Blidget ....I wonder how many new words have been accepted as new and valid words since the advent of the web being available to the masses -
Inappropriate?One a day at least I feel. :)
I want to create one! -
That might be a fun contest to see what we all could come up with.
