Emulate Flickr Gallery popup effect with regular images?
I started off using the Flickr Gallery widget set to 1 column. Next to that column of photos, I wanted to have testimonials of what the people in the pictures said. The problem is that the order seems to get screwed up with the flickr gallery, or it doesn't pull all the photos in so stuff does not match up. If I forego the flickr gallery and just insert the images in the text boxes, is there a way that I can make it so that those images pop up with a javascript lightbox effect just like they do with the flickr gallery? If so, I would have to create thumbnails for all these images, and they would link up with the images on flickr (since they're there already) How can I do this?

Hello Mike
You may want to take a look at this thread: http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/i_k...
Hopefully that will meet your needs. -

This looks far too complicated to do for 20+ photos, I'll be adding to it fairly often. To boot, I don't even understand the code example, and there are many of them in that thread. Which one is right?

I'm with you, Mike C. I'd like a flicker-like photo gallery using images from my file manager. I didn't want a pop up lightbox either.

No no, I DO want the pop up lightbox effect on pictures that I insert. But the Flickr gallery is unreliable as it doesn't always pull the photos, or displays different order, etc.

I just made a discovery, I think. Previously when I viewed the Flickr gallery in the javascript popup window, it wasn't showing all the images. When I copy the link for that page in the preview window, and open it in a new browser window, it is showing all the images, not leaving any out. Strangeness!
