Firefox MAJOR problems
Ok I have already posted about problems but here is another!! I have inserted scores on my results/fixtures page and in the page builder it has a white background, so can someone tell me why when I look on firefox is it on a black background? Even the scrolling text is becoming jerky its not running smooth as it used to. It works fine on IE8 but then some other coding doesnt so I am now at a major loss here!!!

Inappropriate?Get rid of that widget at the bottom of your home page - it has un wanted code attached to it.
<!--
red x (green + 2) x blue
65535 = 00ffff = 0 (255 + 2) x 255
255 - blue
65280 - green
16777215 - white
0 - black
16711680 - red
-->
Plus form what i understand... google dont like widgets on your home page.

Inappropriate?Hi Craig - please refer to my reply on this post :http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/whats_happening_with_yola_since_these_updates?topic_tools=open

Inappropriate?UK Duke where abouts is this unwanted code?
-
Inappropriate?Hey Craig,
Are you placing your images using the site builder's image widget,
or are you adding your images via the HTML widget? -
The reason I'm asking, is because if I look at your homepage with my HTML Validator
it tells me that none of your image tags are closed properly.
Here's one example:
<img style="margin: 4px; padding: 0px; width: 41px; height: 437px;" src="resources/star%20man.jpg?timestamp=1249778953029">
It should look like this:
<img style="margin: 4px; padding: 0px; width: 41px; height: 437px;" src="resources/star%20man.jpg?timestamp=1249778953029" />
There are about 15 occurrences of this.
You also have not closed about 4 <input> tags.
And lastly, but not seriously, the <br> tag should look like this <br /> and
not this <br>
I don't know if this is causing any of your problems, but it's worth getting these right. -
@Boomer - I just tried out the HTML validator - it's a little scary looking! lol. Anyway.. it would appear that none of my br tags or img tags are closed properly but my site still appears to work (http://dejavuapparel.yolasite.com). I just wonder how important it is to actually close those tags? -
Not actually sure myself? These are all warnings and not errors. Beware of the red crosses though. I have gotten a few in the past.
I've gone back and corrected dozens of my pages. There are even warnings in the uneditable head sections of our pages. These warnings are sometimes the only warnings on my pages. Maybe one of the technical guys can comment here. -
Inappropriate?I can't add a new post. It says - (Yola) website error : invalid component id: 1571 cannot find component HTML
Ditto for: 1211 and 1560.
Please help. I need to edit some of my posts and create new ones.
I’m anxious

Didi - I have replied to you on the following post - http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/una... -
Inappropriate?Boomer I am adding some pics using the text widget and adding the pics by pressing on the insert image button on the sitebuilder toolbar where you bold text etc
-
I'm gonna test this myself now, Craig. I'll get back to you. -
@ Boomer - from what i know the first example you left of an image tag is exactly how Yola write their code. They dont add the /> at the end.
Lee. -
Ok Craig, here's what I did,
I created a test page with two images. http://hindsite.synthasite.com/tagtes...
One was placed with the Image widget and the other was placed using the text widget. The one placed with the image widget is closed correctly and the other one is not.
On further investigation I found this:
In HTML thetag has no end tag.
In XHTML thetag must be properly closed.
What is XHTML?
Check here: http://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/ht...
So, even though the code is not strictly XHTML complient, your page should render fine. Sorry for the false alarm. I've asked Yola the question here. http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/htm... -
Inappropriate?Craig,
I have just correctly read your thread.
In Firefox the background of the fixtures page is white for me - see below.
I love the look of your site - its really pro looking.
On the home page i would add the INFO section into the same kind of boxs as INTRO and ABOUT US.
Monique once told me its not correct practice these days to have under construction signs as all sites are under a constant state of construction.
I do understand your reasons tho... you dont want people to think its finished if its not. Just something to think about.
If i were you i would lose the widget from the home page. Apparently sometimes google dont like them, dont know why.
Lee.

Inappropriate?HI Lee yeah was in the middle of doing that when I ran into these problems last night so had to give up but will hopefully get that done today. Can you please tell me what widget you are referring to when you say maybe remove it, is it the countdown widget? I will also remove the under construction wording too.
-
countdown yes, i dont see the point in it.
The more i look at your site the more i like it, the menus great.
Youve done some great little touches which add up to a fantastic overall look. -
Inappropriate?Ok i now have removed it, trying to make it simple yet user friendly still alot of work to be done!! Thanks for your comments duke greatly appreciated.
