Font changed automatically
All the text (titles, subtitles, paragraphs, etc.) has automatically changed to Times New Roman, although that is not the font that I chose originally. Online, the published site still looks like the original, but when I open a page in synthasite to edit it, all the text has changed. This makes editing extremely difficult. Any suggestions?

Inappropriate?Hi IDS,
Can you please tell us which template you are using? -
I am using the Eco Business template (the grey / blue skyline). -
Inappropriate?Hi IDS,
Would you mind posting your site's URL? Could you also check that you haven't copied and pasted from Word or another external source without copying and pasting into Notepad first. This strips the text of any hidden formatting issues that could affect your page.
-
Hi Marije.
My URL is bethanychapel.synthasite.ca. You can also access it by going to bethanychapel.ca. I did insert one sentence of text from Open Office without copying and pasting in Notepad first. Would this change the text on the entire site, or just on the page with that text>
Thanks! I appreciate your help. -
Inappropriate?Hi IDS - thanks for the info and I can see the problem you describe. This is a bug on our part and we'll log it so that it gets fixed.
Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime. -
Thanks! I appreciate your help. IDS -
Hi. Wondering if you've made any progress fixing the bug. It's challenging to develop a webpage when the page I'm looking at is nothing like what is showing up on the web. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. IDS -
Inappropriate?Hello IDS,
We apologize for the inconvenience as well as the delay, there are some major projects taking up engineering time at the moment. As soon as we get information as to when this will be fixed we will get back with you. Thank you so much for your patience in the meantime.
Kind Regards,

Hi Emmy.
It's been a long time since this problem started (4 months, I think) and nothing has changed. I have been soldiering on with the website, but it is challening to get the formatting right when I can't see what it's going to look like on the web until I preview the page. I noticed today that it started with another one of my sites: lifegroup.synthasite.com. Is there something I can do to fix the problem? Thanks for your help. -
Hello IDS - you're right, this is still an outstanding bug and I will follow up to find out what's going on. Can you give us more detail on the problem on lifegroup.synthasite.com? If possible, can you post screenshots. Could you also let us know what browser you're using (eg. Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3 etc)/ -
Inappropriate? The problem is this: when I am working on the site, what I am looking at is nothing like what is posted to the internet. The font is different, the size, the formatting and the even the spacing.
Here is what I see when I am working. This is my bethanychapel.synthasite.com site:
When I preview the page, this is what I see:
I am using Internet Explorer 7 on my PC at hom and IE 8 on my laptop.
Now, as you can see in the images above, the spacing is not working and I am losing words from the end of the line in many text boxes. Also, the pictures are not where they should be.
Thanks for your help.

I’m frustrated.

Hi IDS
I can understand your frustration. Something I noticed on your page source is that most of your tags are capitalized. Normally they are in lower case. I don't know if this would attribute to these problems you are having but I do wonder. For example <P> should be <p> FONT should be font, etc.... Perhaps you could try doing a "save page as" of your homepage and give it another name. This will replicate your page. Then try going into the HTML and changing all the tags to lower case and see how this affects it?
Do you recall how you entered your text? Did you simply type it in or did you write it elsewhere and then copied and pasted? -
Inappropriate?Hi littleus.
I tried what you suggested: I changed all the tags to lower case, but nothing changed. Also, the changes didn't remain. Once I closed the html dialogue box, all the tags reverted to the upper case letters.
All of the text has been typed into the yola site-builder. I did not copy and paste it from another application.
Thanks for your help.

I see that you are using IE7 and 8 as your main browser. May I encourage you to try downloading Firefox and trying making your changes through that? Yola does work best with Firefox. You can download Firefox for free here: http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/fi... -
Inappropriate? If you are using IE8, make sure you add Yola to the compatibility settings of your browser. Click the compatibility button next to the refresh button.
If your text is still showing as Times New Roman, or there are any other inconsistencies, let us know. -
Hi Monique.
I clicked the compatibility button. Nothing has changed. Still all Times New Roman. Any other suggestions? Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Hi IDS
Your site appears to be fine... here's what I see:

Can you try accessing your site builder through another browser such as Firefox and see if this makes any difference? Yola works best with Firefox. You can download for free here: http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/fi... -
I know the site looks fine on line. But when I am building the site, the image I work with is signficantly different from the published site. It makes the formatting awkward with a lot of trial and error to get it right. Thanks for your help, though. IDS -
Inappropriate?Hello IDS,
We are currently working on a project that has included a fix on this bug (that the font renders in Times New Roman in the Site Builder and differently on the published site).
We are sorry it has taken so long to fix, but it's great to let you know that there is a fix in sight. Hopefully it will only be a few more weeks.

That's excellent news. Thanks, Marije.
