Inappropriate?Great, Hey i am a website reviewer, If you want your site to be looked at via a pro click this link

Inappropriate?Always been in awe of your site creation. How it gets better is beyond my imagination. Sweet it is..... {then I looked at the prices..... the list prices are what my parents paid for their "grown ups home" ! :) }
I have a question.
On your legal page you've used Times font (I think) but the title is Arial? and you have the created font for your fantastic menu. That shouldn't work but it does. How did you work to that Ed? -
Thank Peter...
Awe huh I will always try to live up to that comment. My honeycomb menu is actually an imagemap. I have described how I did it here... http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...
Prices are quite high but when you take into consideration there is $4000 and up to 200 hours of work in the typical playhouse it gets into a whole other category of playtime structures. Just imagine your house in miniature. And for the market that is well under priced my friend.
Sad I had to start a luxury playhouse business during a recession huh? I hope to last through this and stay on the first few pages of searches ;)
Mr Ed -
That is $4000 in materials alone ;) -
Inflation is just there so not surprised really. Just the reality i guess.
wrt the typography I meant how did you come up with three different type faces that work together? If I did something like that, people would be turning green because it would be a classical gaff. I promise you it wouldn't suit your playhouses but more likely a sh..house! And then not that good.
Actually recessions are not bad times to build businesses if you don't hve to make large investments. You're ready to strike when people get sick of the recession and just get on with it :) -
Oh I understand now... I was working on a screen blindness moment... The font types I think compliment each other due to the differences in sizes and placement. Well that's just my opinion ;)
You know I was thinking about building luxury crescent moon outhouses but there is no market for it ;) There is one for politicians though...

Recessions are the best time to start a business because it's a statistical fact that if you can make it through it your business will be more likely to last longer and be more lucrative than others. I have hundreds of private playhouse companies and tens of thousands of websites that use the same partner playhouse company that I do wishing they were as high up on the searches as I am. I can't wait for the $150 to $2500 per playhouse commission checks to start rolling in... ;) With 25 playhouses sold daily by this company I hope I can get most of their traffic my way ;) -
Inappropriate?I like your site a lot.I think you get it on the business side.It is all about who are you trying to get to buy your items and does your site appeal to them.Parents and kids will not care about the tech side of any of our sites. You want them to think hey this looks cool or fun and you have presented it to them in that way.

Inappropriate?Hi Ed
Looking good! I am glad you are around to tell people how you did some of those things, cause if they ask me I am going to be scratching my head!! I like the way you have followed through on the "honeycomb" theme.
There seems to be a glitch with the text box just above the footer on your homepage. (In Firefox, anyway)
-
Monique...
Hmmm you know me by now... I usually cannot keep my secrets secret for long. I will as I have more free time devote myself to some of those tutorials I am usually good for.
Scratching your head huh? LOL that's choice... Like maybe the cool one image border around the main flash of my index page perhaps? or the "Committed to quality" image behind my transparent background slideshow maybe? or the semi opaque text box sitting above images?
Hmmm I wonder what you could be referring to. ;)
I will like I said write those tutorials...
Glad you liked it because to me it is same old same old, day in and day out.
The glitch was odd because the box does not come in pixels wide. Rather it comes in rows and this is problematic because it changes from monitor to monitor so I reduced the width to ensure that does not happen again. Odd that it looked fine for me and then you got that. What is your resolution?
Mr Ed -
Inappropriate?Hello Mr. Ed. You're always getting the best of the best. Diogenes is right, your site now is very sweet as honey...I wish i could be a bee..

Grace again a wonderful reply and I thank you... We gotta chat sometime online... I will try to be online more this week and when I am use my Mr Honeypot page ok... -
Sounds good, Mr Ed. Just give me a buzz. I can't control myself to visit your site again and again. Really awesome! -
Inappropriate? It looks really good, only thing i would say is not everyone has a fast internet connection and there seems to be a lot of data to load on the homepage.
I'm starting a new site its 'under construction' at the minute - i'd love some general feedback on the look and lay out of the home page.

Inappropriate?Thanks lee
While yes it does have much content and takes a while to load but websites are in part geared to the clientele and or market you are trying to sell to. My market is American families and the more affluent ones at that. Other Toy company and or playhouse company website here geared to the same very market take even longer to load and (much longer) While I would love to simplify it and reduce the load time I would have to settle for less than the quality that I currently have. I have in fact tried removing all the advertising and this reduced the load time a mere seconds. As my market is those with disposable income it is statistically a fact that those people have high speed internet.
It is for this fact that I can get away with jamming my site more so with content than others could get away with.
I would rather it look pretty and be eye appealing than empty, plain and boring...
I hope that you understand my reasoning behind my reply...
Happy site building
Ed -
Good point - my first synthasite attempt http://hexham.info is a directory which i wanted to load fast on all connections including mobile phones and mobile broadband, my new site http://mysiteguru.com is aimed at people at home with a good connection, like you say different rules for different customers.
Your site is outstanding for a free site, when i first joined synthasite your site was featured on the homepage and i thought that it was the standard (level) i wanted to equal (maybe even 1 day improve on) My aim is to make the most visited free site ever made, get 100 bucks from google every day and sit back relax, maybe 1 day - wish me luck! -
Inappropriate?Ed,
If your play houses are as good as your web page, They must be great.

Inappropriate?Hi some kool guyz
Your site is looking good my friend... I like your addition of the background generator rotating banner. Good addition...
A few thoughts though...
1) Large text on a website (Unless a main point or topic) can and will throw the reader off. It is a visual thing and you may wish to reconsider using such large type simply to fill the pages.
2) Images that are saved as a GIF or JPEG tend to reduce in quality and blur or distort. If you have an ad such as the one at the bottom of you index page or banners like on many of your other pages you may wish to save it as a PNG set to 300 dpi and then resize to a manageable dimension to fit your page. PNG tends to produce large files so if you reduce them they will be much more page load friendly. One thing that I have found it that if you use the myspace animated GIF generator you can make a rotating GIF image with crystal clear PNG images and it does not reduce the quality but it maintains the image quite nicely. See this thread... http://getsatisfaction.com/SynthaSite...
http://www.myspacegens.com/handler.ph...
3) When it comes to including a Synthasite logo to your web page I recommend not showcasing it as though it is the main banner on your page. This can be misleading and out of place. Consider something like I have done here http://honeybearplayhomes.synthasite.... Feel free to use and copy whatever you like but include a disclaimer of sorts. I think that if anyone includes the Synthasite logo to their web page it should in fact have something stating that it was included by the site builder and link back to the company to offer another link under their belt. ;)
All in all you are working hard and keep up the good work...
Happy site building
Ed

Oh also consider using uniform, consistent and similar buttons throughout your website. This looks better as well as professional.
Sometimes less is more and white spaces between content make a page look more eye appealing. Too much of a good thing can be distracting at times. ;) -
Inappropriate?thanks ed!
my site will be updated next week,
