Hello Border Pcsolutions,
I am happy to report that the bug you were experiencing has been fixed and we will do all we can to prevent this from re-occurring in the future. If you do still see a problem, clearing your browser's cache will most likely take care of this: clearing cache.
Thank you very much for your patience while we worked on that and please let me know if you have any further troubles.

Go to www.hit-counts.com, choose a hit counter, and create an account at the bottom, it'll give you an HTML, copy it and add the custom HTML to your website, save it and you have a hit counter, and it adds one each time someone comes!

Hi Robert
Thanks for this great tip. I am sure it will be useful to many people!
Some people have asked how they can track visitors without a visible hit counter, and Google Analytics is great for this. If you want a hit counter, however, then I suggest you try what Robert has recommended. You could also consider holding off on adding a hit counter until your site is attracting a steady stream of traffic as this will make your hit counter look more impressive!
We really appreciate it when our users share ideas that have worked for them! -

Did you know that Widget Box, one of the widget galleries we have integrated with in SynthaSite, offers a several hit counter widgets? Here is the link: http://www.widgetbox.com/search?q=hit...
To add this widget to your site:
1) Drag and drop a Widget box icon onto your page (you will find it in the "widgets" folder)
2) Click on the link in the dialog that will take you to Widget Box and search for "hit counter"
3) Copy the code
4) Paste it into the SynthaSite dialog box
That's it! You will have a hit counter for your site!- view 4 more comments

I installed a guestbook this morning. I had some trouble but it seems to be installed now. I tried installing it on my contact page. That did not seem to work. So I created another page and installed it and now Guestbook appears on all the pages. I don't know whether that is gonna stay that way or not but feel free to visit my site and leave a comment. I would like to make it so folks could add to my link library if they wanted to.
Also...the first link in my link library is drum columbus. I can not get that into an official link no matter what I try. Let me know what you think. I have checked out many sites here and I am impressed. I will happy to sign your guestbooks if you have them. I realize this may be off topic...but attracting people to your site is one thing and getting them to sign a guestbook might tell you more about what you need to know...ya know?-

Love it, I can't believe all the help I can get for free with you guys!!
I added a counter to my site www.funkyheartgallery.com and think I've done it right. Please fell free to check out my site (you know I'm going to get all excited when my counter is more than zero!!!)
Also, I read in your help section to add a Digg button to my site to increase chances of traffic. This isn't against their rules is it? Would it only be against their rules if I submitted my site myself??? Not sure..can you help?
Cheers funkyheart-
Fabulous site! I was excited to see that you have your photo gallery with clickable thumbnails working really well. I can see that you have put a lot of work into your site.
Adding a Digg button to your site is not against their rules. Here is a link to Digg tools: http://digg.com/tools/integrate
I am glad you like SynthaSite and were able to find the help you needed. The more people ask questions and share ideas, the better the help becomes, so please feel free to post something any time you like. Hi there,
When i try and add the Google Analytics code using the HTML widget on my page i get the following error message:
oops, an error has occurred with your javasript code. Please check your code,
I am using the HTML code which i copied off the google analytics website:
Any ideas how i can get this to work on my synthasite webpage?
Thanks,

Hi Kershnee,
Thanks for the reply, strangely Google Analytics now has statistics for my website, even though i didn't make any changes and i haven't added anything!!!

I'm having difficulty with the process described up top. When I paste the code from Google Analytics into the HTML widget and try to save I get the message: "Oops! An error has occurred with your pasted javascript code. Please check your code." The code shows up in the source when I load the page, but the error message is disconcerting.
-
-
Hi jld
Sorry about the disconcerting error message. This is a known issue. Google Analytics Embed Code sometimes causes a JavaScript error on Drop. Workaround: Click the "OK" button in the error dialog, save your page, navigate to another page or create a new page, navigate back to the page where you've embedded Google Analytics and you should no longer get the error. NOTE: If you clear your cache, this error may reappear. It should not cause any trouble with your stats however. -

Hello All, Just read the the thread regarding getting google analytics on. I have set up google and put the code in the HMtL widget at the bottom.I got the code error like others have in the past.I followed the instruction someone gave to navigate away from the page then go back and this does allow me to then put the code in.I entered the code on all my pages using this method. However when I click back on the HMTL widget at the bottom of my pages as if I am going to edit it again the Google code has disappeared? And just the previous one line code is there? This doesn't seem right? I then updated my site and clicked on the link to go on it and it says cannot find page? Is this normal as my site is getting updated and if so,how long before my site goes back on "live" The site is www.wewillfinditcheaper.com
Thanks-
Your site is back on "live" Morgan.
I can see it and the Analytics code seems correct on all your pages.
Try refreshing your browser..to see your site again. -
-
-
-
-
Cheers, I see its back on. One thing though, the home page sometimes loads and all the colour has gone off my design and the page headings are just listed. It just looks completely basic. Then when I navigate away and back again it goes ok? Is this common?
-
I get the same thing sometimes...dunno?
Just gotten so used to refreshing the page than trying to find out why.
I think it's a browser cache problem.. never botherd to investigate.
Doesn't happen often enough to be an issue to me. -
-
-

And if you have been to my site my analytics still shows 0 hits.Does google analytics update immediately or not? If not, how long before it updates after a visit?

google analytics is a really simple to use feature, sometimes hit counters give false readings, if you are paying per click advertising you need to be sure that they are real, a hit counter wont tell you this. I have built our site with synthasite it is wonderful, keep up the good work. Have a look at us www.policyrenewal.co.uk we are a team of insurance advisors based in the UK. Thanks

If the link includes words that are relevant to your site the search engines will notice them and your site will improve for those words in searches.
It still amazes me that most posts here dont include a link?

Can someone tell me how come synthasite tracks your users, but you can't see the data
-
-
Shaq,
If this is important to you it can be seen instantly by subscribing to an "analytics" provider. I'm sure that Google, MSN, Yahoo, WtF.com and Synthasite systems track everything that happens within their sphere but I don't think that would add anything to the overall product that they're providing for the vast majority of users. I'm sure they would consider giving you appropriate data if you ask.
You seem internet savvy, you know that there are thousands of systems tracking everyone's actions on the web and other than analytics providers I haven't seen any other sites display info like that. -
-
HI guys another way you can know how many people visited your site is to get a cluster map ,type your URL and e-mail in the cluster map create your map, then drop the HTML widget where you want it on your site, copy the verification code from the cluster map paste it in the HTML save it publish your site.good luck everyone with your site why not check my site out look for the cluster map on my site create your own from there. http://stacie.synthasite.com http://stacies.synthasite.com God bless you all.stacie

I added a counter to my website so that I could check to see how many hits I receive. In the two weeks the website has been up I have had over 250 hits. the website is http://homerthedulcimer.com/
-
It sounds like you're indicating the website has been up ONLY for two weeks. The first two weeks my website was up I was barely able to get 5 hits a day (approximately 60 to 75 hits for two weeks) and this was with A LOT of shoutouts about my website, I told probably 2,000 people about my website in its first two weeks but didn't get that many visitors. If you don't do a lot of advertising and if you're not on page one of a google search results, you might want to double check that number and see if it's accurate. It's unlikely to get 250 hits for the first two weeks unless you pay for advertising.
-
-
Donald the website in fact has only been up two weeks. However, I belong to several Dulcimer blogs where I have been posting for awhile about writing a book. A lot of my hits are from this group checking out my website. The website has a daily blog that I hope some are come back to check on a regular basis. I have also been actively handing out bookmarks with my website address so I hope some receivers are going to the website as well. Finally I have a vinyl sign with the website address on the back window of my SUV. I am hoping this is/will send traffic there too.

On your homepage it appears an image is blanked out (not visible). This COULD be my computer or it could be the source of the pic. If you see the image yourself, disregard this. If the image is not appearing, check your source. If it's in your file manager it may be damaged. If you copied it from another website, they may have removed it from their file manager and I would suggest placing it into your own file manager. Almost any image on the internet you are able to right click and save to your desktop and then upload to yola's file manager. :)

Thanks, I deleted the picture and readded. The picture is there now. I hope this corrects that issue. Thank you for noticing and bringing it to my attention.

Hi Samantha,
To get stats on your site such as visitor numbers and the behavior of visitors on your site you need to install some type of tracking. We would suggest using Google Analytics, here is a link to a tutorial with more information on how to install this: Tutorial: Adding Google Analytics.
Hope this helps!

Hello Iam new to this site . I am trying to set up a website for Cruise groups. I have no idea what Iam doing . I put photo's up .. then there is no room for what else I want ... Can someone please help me do the first page . I would be grateful. Thanks Annie
-
-
Hi Annie,
I will be glad to assist you. There is no limit to amount of content you add to your page. To add more content to your page simply drag and drop a widget from the content sidebar. The "Content" sidebar at the right of your screen contain the widgets that you will use to add content to your site. Widgets allow you to add things such as text (writing) and pictures onto your webpage. You add these to your page by clicking on them with your mouse and then, holding the button of your mouse down, dragging them across the screen. If you are doing it properly a grey image of the widget will move across the page. When the widget is over the page let go of your mouse button. You will then be able to start editing the widgets to add content such as text, images and videos.
For detailed, step-by-step instructions please search our help topics or check the tutorials -

I have used Analytics successfully on other (non-yola) sites but can't seem to get it to work on yola. The only problem I can see is that the Analytics code is not where it is supposed to be. I don't see where I can modify the html directly to fix it. I added the html by dropping an html widget at the bottom of each page. The code is there but not in the right spot "immediately before the (body) tag". Is there some other way to do this?
Thanks -
-
Hi Chuck,
The code must be added to an HTML widget at the bottom of each page you want to track. You could place the code anywhere on your page, but always adding it in the same spot helps you keep track of where you have placed it.
If the code is installed correctly you will not see anything on your page, but Google will use this invisible tracking code to gather data on your site. Once you update your site, it be verified and you can log in to your Google Analytics account to find out all the information you want to know about the people who have visited your site. Please be aware that it takes 24 hours for Google Analytics to collect the first lot of data about your site.
(Note: Google Analytics sometimes gives a Javascript error on drop. This is a known issue, but will not interfere with Google's ability to verify your site. If you get this error, simply navigate to another page on your site and all should be fine).
For detailed, step by step instructions, see: Adding Analytics -
-
I placed the html widget as low on the page as I was able. The site is:
http://ThriftyScout.yolasite.com
I do not see anything on my page and it has been several days and Analytics still has not started tracking. The only thing not consistent with the Analytics tutorial that I can find is that the location of the Analytics code.
When I open my site and view source by right clicking on the home page I see that the Analytics code starts part way through line 76, and continues through line 84 which also has some additonal code. Other than dropping the html widget low on the page, I don't seem to have any control on where the code goes.
According to Analytics this code should be right before the body tag which is on line 130. I don't know if that is the problem, but it is the only discrepency I can find. Is there a way to get the Analytics code down where it is supposed to be?
I would like to do some testing and evaluation of the site prior to considering an upgrade to paid hosting. I need Analytics to consider its potential.
Thanks again.-
Hi Chuck,
There are a few things you can check:
1. Have you copied the complete code provided by Google Analytics and pasted it into an HTML widget?
2. It usually takes 24 hours for data on your site to be available in your Google Analytics account.
3. Please see this link on Google's Support Page: https://www.google.com/support/google.... -
-
-
-
-
I have been through this process several times and I have worked with Analytics in the past. I have repeated the process again today but it still places the code well above where it belongs according to Google. I'm also not sure why the code starts in the last line of the previous text widget. I don't know if that makes a difference but it doesn't make much sense and it complicates debugging.
I have worked with Analytics in the past without this problem. My reading of Google's support page and comparing it to the source code in my yolasite suggests that the code is not being embedded properly by yola. Is there a way to modify or edit the code to get it in the right place? It is a little frustrating to be referred back to google when I don't have enough control over the code to follow their debug instructions.
I may be missing something simple but if I don't have an effective way to track site useage I will be better off relocating. That is too bad because I really like your page building tools.-
Hi Chuck - generally we advise people to add the Google Analytics code to the bottom of their pages using an HTML widget. This works and Google Analytics is happy and tracks websites easily. Are you using the standard Google Analytics code? Or are you trying to do something different? Can you also check whether you have added your URL to Google Analytics as http://thriftyscout.yolasite.com/ or http://www.thriftyscout.yolasite.com/.
Sorry for what may be stupid questions, but I don't know why Google Analytics would be having problems when thousands of people on Yola use their service successfully. Is there an error message in your GA account? If so, could you paste it here so that we can investigate? -
-
-
-
-
I copied the standard code directly from analytics and pasted directly into the HTML widget. I checked that the tracking number matches exactly as shown on my analytics summary. I also verified that my URL is added to analytics as thriftyscout.yolasite.com (they supply the http://). The only thing I find different is that the code seems to be overlapping the text widget immediately above it. Line 76 completes the text and starts the analytics code. The code is also well before the point analytics suggests. Is this normal for yola?
The analytics status states "tracking not installed", I do not get any other error codes and my none of the code is visible on my site.
I have added www. to the URL just to try something different. I will check it again tomorrow. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know if this change works. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.
Thanks -

Hey, Thanx for ur suggestion, I have integrated my site with Database i.e. Salesforce.com. Now anyone can give me feedback or post his request.
Just give it a try at http://officegames.yolasite.com in FeedBack Page. -
-
I see this has already been answered. I thought you would like to hear my way as well. I set up an Adsense account. By using adsense you may even make a little petty cash to help in your ventures. With having the ability to control/edit your website, you could prolly even reduse the size of the HTML to not very visible on each page, but with the code(s) on your page they will be tracking.
Why would you not really want Google on your site, anyway? Aw, if you are selling products/services, you don't want Google to have one BETTER. As soon as they click on the actual link from Google they may be gone forever. -
-
-
If you are referring to your profile on this forum, when you are logged into Get Satisfaction, click on your name in the upper left hand corner, then select "Account Settings".

So first I was thinking, "dude, it's not working it shows the yellow error signal!" so I went around and added regular counters to all my pages... BUT then I saw that Analytics updated my status and I am good to go! No stats yet, but I will wait to see them tomorrow since it does say it updates everyday not by hour or shorter like some sites.
So to you guys who see that error sign, just wait an hour or two and it should change. The step by step instructions are very clear, so click that link in this thread. Have some patience, and it will all work out.

I personally prefer getclicky.
I do not recommend Google Analytics at all. Just when you think you're getting 400 visitors a day, you are in reality getting about 25 a day. Yea, that's right... the infamous google is inaccurate with their analytics.
getclicky is the best I've tried so far.... although I'm hosting my own analytics as of now! And I find that to be the most accurate and customizable lol -

We are very able to provide you with help building your site using the Sitebuilder tools as well as other general website building tips, but when it comes to how to make money with a website, that is something we are not able to provide much information on. There are various possibilities such as selling products or adding various advertising platforms to your site. There are a number of ways to place ads on your site, here are a few:
* We have a Google AdSense Widget to make adding this effective advertising tool easy for you. Simply open the "Ecommerce" folder and drag and drop the "Google AdSense" Widget onto your page. Click on the link in the dialog box to sign up for an AdSense account and get ads for your site by copying and pasting the advertising code Google provides, once your site has been approved for their program.
* Add a banner image to your site using either the Text Widget (click "insert image" on the text editing toolbar) or use an Picture Widget. You can then turn your banner ad into an active link using our link editor. For more information, see this handy tutorial: Creating Links.
* Place any other form of advertising on your site as long as you can source the HTML embed code. Integrate this with your Yola page by dragging an HTML Widget onto your page and pasting the HTML embed code into the HTML editor. Please note: You are responsible for getting your site approved by your chosen ad network. We can assist you with instructions on how to build your site, but each ad program has their own set of requirements and it will be up to you to ensure that your site meets those requirements.
* If you would like to sell products, we have a tutorial that explains how to create an online store using the Online Store feature on Yola. Here is the link: Creating an Online Store.

Ok, one more thing and hopefully this should be it with all my questions. I'm trying to track the amount of traffic coming to my website using Google analytics. I created an account with google, copy the code they gave me, and pasted the code in the HTML widget at the bottom of every page. But my site is still not being tracked. Did I miss a step somewhere in the process? Someone please help me. My URL is www.houseofbyson.com.
Thanks -

Hello,
For weeks now I've been trying to add Google analytics to my webpage so I could begin to track my visitors. I followed all the steps that were instructed my Yola customer service and also reached out to Google customer service as well. I'm not sure why what I'm doing wrong but my site's traffic is still not being tracked. I reported this several times over the course of about 3wks without any luck. Can some please look at my site and aid me in the process of getting this fixed? 1st. I was instructed to create a Google analytics account and copy and paste the Google analytics code in the site tracking code field. That didn't work. 2nd. I was then instructed to place the HTML widget at the bottom of every page that I wanted to be track and copy and paste the Google analytic code their but that also didn't work. I even copy and paste the code in both the HTML widget and under the site tracking code section on my page and that also didn't work. I'm not sure what to do at this point and it's getting to be extremely frustrating. My URL is www.houseofbyson.com

Hello,
I have taken a look at the pages of your site and do see that the Google Analytics code has been added to your pages in an HTML Widget. If Google Analytics is not reporting traffic statistics for your site, unfortunately as that is not our environment we are not able to troubleshoot why statistics are not being reported. I know it's frustrating when something is not working properly, but from our end I can say that I can see in the source code that you have added the code, but generating the statistics is on Google's end. I would say that the best thing to do is check with their support team and see if they are able to look at your account with them and give you help as to why they are not registering data.
The other option you have is to use Yola's Site Traffic tool which you will find on your My Yola page.
Kind Regards,

Hello houseofbyson,
Thanks for sharing this problem - gosh, it certainly sounds frustrating and I hope to be of assistance to you. When looking at your site, I see that you have added the tracking code to two areas of your site; the 'Site Tracking Code' under the 'Site Properties' as well as in an HTML widget on your site. Please remove the code from the HTML widget and save and publish your changes. Having this added in one area may certainly clear up the confusion with Google Analytics and I am hopeful that you will see the results you are aiming for. Please allow a bit of time for these changes to propagate and let us know if the analytics kick in. -

How to track my website traffic using Google Analytics. -

I am confused. I set up and published a site 7 days ago and the stats say I have had 23 visits. I am using a domain which I own to direct visitors to the yolasite, the states I have had 29 visitors. I advertise my site on Twitter and Facebook by using a tiny url which states I have had 121 visits. Can anybody tell me which is correct?

Hello Stevie,
We have done extensive testing on our site traffic feature and feel you are getting very accurate results as to the specific data that is being tracked. You are more than welcome to try Google Analytics as well to see how things measure up.
Please note that there is a difference between the site traffic statistics returned between Yola Free and Yola Silver.
Site Traffic with Yola Free:
* 7 days worth of data
* Total number of visits to a site
Site Traffic for Yola Silver:
* 30 days instead of 7 days worth of data
* Total visits and unique visitors. If someone visits your site and then comes back a day later, it will be registered as another visit, but will still be the same visitor. This is considered to a be a Unique Visitor. With Yola Silver, you will get this additional statistic.
* Comparison of change in traffic, week by week.
For more information on Yola Silver please see: Yola Silver FAQ.
Kind Regards,

I am positive there is something wrong with Yola site traffic stats. Ever since it went down and then was fixed (apparantly!), your stats show that my site only has 200 or less daily visitors. Yet, up until then my site was receiving between 450 and 600 daily visitors according to your stats, although this dropped to under 100 just before it went completely wrong.
Google still shows my site as having between 500 and 600 daily visitors and my adsense stats show no drop in overall page views and earnings are still okay. Something isn't right with Yola stats, I'm sure!-
Hi Mark,
We did release a fix for this, however are looking back into it again to see what the current problem might be. I'm sorry for this inconvenience and we hope to have this taken care of soon.
Kind Regards,

There is a very useful site where it gives ontime traffic analytics. You will be able to monitor immediately how many people are going on your website, how frequest they visit, unique visitors and previous visitors, what countries, what screen monitor, what ISP they are using, what country/location, which pages of your site they visited and how long they stay on your website per visit. And even the source of referrer ( I mean in which traffic sites ). This company offers a free trial for about 30 days. For me its useful because I can easily recoginize which traffic sites really works and give reliable traffic.

Has anybody experienced accuracy problems with NeoCounter?
Hits published by Yola seem to be much higher than those from NeoCounter.
I do like the NeoCounter application as it provides me hit distributions by zipcode which is great for my particular website; however, it seems that some of the zipcode (accumulative) hits are decreasing.-
Hello wolframb,
Although I do not have any experience with NeoCounters, in general, hit counters can sometimes be a bit unreliable. By using Google Analytics, you may be able to find this same kind of information.
You may also want to reach out NeoCounters to see if they are experiencing any issues or have explanations for why this might be happening. -

Hi everyone.
I don't know how you fixed this problem, but I personally added a special counter to my website. Now, can you tell me - was it a good idea or should I change it for something else?

Hello Kevin,
Multiple posts of the same content in different threads may be considered as spam. Please don't keep adding these as they will be removed by the Yola staff. -

There are plenty of web hostings that allow you watching your site traffic and calculating site visits in real time, for instance www.bravehost.net, and Google Analytics is a handy tool I always use for my corporate website: convert m4a to mp3
-
-
As far as I am concerned, absolutely any hosting offers such a tool as a counter so you may see how many times your site was visited - it is a basic option, and if you need advanced ones, go for programs for site analysis that will let you view build graphics, watch the visitors' location and such details. What is the best for you depends on what exactly you need.

I would say that there is a problem.
You have successfully verified ownership of your site I guess?
You have copied teh tracking code and pasted it with an HTML widget on every page of your site?
Is there anything else that the warning is telling you?
UA-425983. Is this what you are seeing?
Please Check out my website the URL is:
http://gamerspalace.yolasite.com/
is it good?? :) or :( ?
You need to paste the code into each page of your site that you want tracked, currently I only saw it on one page and there it was inserted into a text widget whereas it needs to be added to an HTML widget.
