I’m frustrated

How do I forward my domain name?

I created a whole working website using Dreamweaver and I would like to use the domain (www.imaginedimagery.com) name that I purchased from Yola for this new site. How do I forward my domain to another server and mask the server’s address? Can you send me the server address so that I can connect to it via FTP? I just wanted to check that my login and password are the same as the login and password that I use for yola.

  • Hello,

Unfortunately Yola does not allow domain forwarding at this time.

You can however move your domain away from Yola.

There are two options when you want to move your domain away from Yola:

Option 1: You can edit your DNS settings so that your domain points to your new provider. Depending on the host you're moving to, it would either be editing nameservers or creating an A Record. This means that you will still get a renewal reminder from us 11 months after purchase. If you choose this option, please view this tutorial: . http://www.yola.com/tutorials/dns-for-your-yola-domain

Option 2: We can release your domain so that it is transferred to another domain registrar completely. You will receive an email with a code from us that you can give to your new domain registrar. To unlock and transfer your domain, follow the steps on this link: Transfer your domain to a new domain registrar. Please note: Domain registrars require a mandatory 60-day waiting period between purchase and transfers. This is something beyond our control. If it less than 60 days since you purchased the domain from Yola, you will be unable to transfer it.

    I hope this helps.

  • I have transferred everything successfully, but do I still need to wait the 5 days or... can I speed up the process...?

    Thanks for the help!

    • This hadn't been a pleasant experience with yola, I emailed support@yola.com 3 days ago. They replied saying that my admin email for my domain was in-fact the correct email (they provided screenshots of this) but godaddy said that it's something to do with privacy being enabled.. instead of receiving any response on a Friday when you were open I did not receive an email until sunday but all the email said was someone was offline and they would continue working on my problem when they come back... why did they not resolve this on Friday, and now it's Monday and still nothing back from you guys... except your response here 5 hours ago.
