Inappropriate?Hello Jack
We are currently experiencing a bug where the vertical divider cannot be dragged to the right or left. We will be fixing this bug as soon as possible and we will let you know once it has been done.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Once we have it fixed, we'll let you know as soon as possible. -
Inappropriate? How long does it take to fix this? It's been two days at least. :(
-
Inappropriate?Still no fix. I have seen other people with this problem since early last week - just not all categorized in this particular thread. Is this being worked on? It seems a foundational bug in that it Really makes the setup messy when you have to move every box individually. Please help. THANKS!

Hi Maria. This bug was introduced last week and yes, it is being worked on. It is one of the highest priority bugs, but it did get pushed down the queue a little bit because of the big styles release we did last week. Our engineers in San Francisco have just started their work day and hopefully they will get round to fixing it this week. We will let you know as soon as there is any progress. I agree that this is a basic widget and it is very difficult to do your page layout without it! -
Inappropriate?yea, my old ones work (the ones placed before the problem)... it has to do with the new column divider, can't they just bring back the old one? Problem Solved!
-
We didn't change the widget. A code change was made elsewhere that inadvertently introduced a bug with the existing widget. So the solution is not to "bring the old one back" because the old one never left! The solution is to fix the bug, which is what our engineers hope to do as soon as they can. -
well... then this raises questions.... if it's not a different widget, then wouldn't the ones already placed on the site not work either? I can adjust my column dividers that were placed on the site before the issue. -
and even with it being "the same" widget, isn't yola prepared to "go back" so that the widgets work EXACTLY as they did before the problem? -
Inappropriate?A bug is a bug no matter where it lies! What ever happent to retrospective testing? Testing SHOULD test not only the new functionality, but it's interaction with existing functionality.
Starting to loose the faith I'm afraid.
I’m Unimpressed

Hi Rob. Yes, we are embarrassed and most sorry that this was missed in QA. We certainly do as much regression testing as we possibly can in the time available to us. However, with the best will in the world, bugs do sometimes make it into the live site builder. All we can do is work on better testing next time, while fixing existing bugs. Sorry if this causes you to lose faith in us. Is there anything we could do to restore it, other than what I mentioned above? -
us "non-employees" are most likely unaware of how many tasks yola has to work with so not testing one of the million things could have been an honest mistake that will hopefully teach technicians in the future to learn from their mistakes. -
Inappropriate? In the commersial world are not so forgiving; been there done that. Yola is a great concept don't let it down by rushing stuff out fotr the sake of being seen to be moving forward, Such a philosphy will "bite you in the bum" if you are not careful.
Best wishes.
Rob.

We certainly do not believe in "rushing things out for the sake of being seen to move forward." We try to release features and maintain our software for the benefit of our users and we follow a rigorous development and release process. Are you implying that this is our philosophy or just cautioning us against adopting it? If it is the latter, then all I can say is we couldn't agree more. Still waiting for a constructive suggestion as to what we can do better apart from "never making mistakes," which is something we cannot commit to. We can only commit to correcting our mistakes and learning from them. We appreciate forgiveness where it is offered, but certainly realize that we have no right to expect it. In case you are interested the bug was introduced when we implemented some back end changes to improve the performance of the site builder. The widget was tested and appeared to work in our staging environment, but broke in the live build. I don't offer this explanation by way of excuse, and it is our job to find out why this was missed and stop it from happening again. -
Inappropriate? We just wanted you to know that our engineers who have been hard at work have successfully fixed this bug! You should now be able to use your column divider once again. :)

I will be sure to pass along your thanks to our wonderful engineers who have worked hard to get this bug squashed. :)
