Inappropriate?I love it Felipe,
I think you have done a fantastic job.
The background image looks very nice as well. I'm just not to keen on the way it repeats itself down the page. In my opinion, It would look nicer as one long image.
I realise this is easier said than done. Otherwise.....very professional.

Inappropriate?Felipe I really liked your website. The use of color worked very well and was easy on the eyes.

Thank you -
Inappropriate?I like the site, reminds me a lot of my church!
Is that background a premium or new template? I don't remember seeing it in the list of templates to use last time I looked. -
He has used the Burlap template and the "Edit Style" button to upload his own background image. -
Inappropriate?Very clean looking and focused, easy to navigate. Pity about the background image, although ot suits yor overall style, it really is not suitable for "tiling" (repeating) down or across the page.

Inappropriate? If he "supposedly" created the background image himself or used one that was not installed into a template already then how come noone can tell me how this is done? I've only been asking for six months how to customize your background image. The only answer I ever receive is, "you can't" - well, if you can't,, then how come others can do it?

Hi Donald
There has always been an option to add your own customized background but this was only available to a few templates. There was an upgrade made in Yola about three months ago which now allowed for more personalization of templates. This was posted in this thread here: Personalize your Style with Awesome New Yola Features
Yola gives you the option to either change the background color of your style or upload your own background image, or both! You can also apply it to all the pages! **Please note** that some styles do not have this option. If you want to know if the option to edit the background image is available for a particular style, see the Yola Style Guide.
**Edit the page background color:**
1. Click on "Edit Page Design" and then "Format Background".
2. A dialog box will open, click on the down-arrow next to "Background Fill" and the color picker will open.
3. Select the color you would like to use and click on "OK". If you know the Hex value of the color you would like to use, enter it into the space provide (here's a link to a Hex color generator).
**Upload your own background image:**
1. Click on "Edit Page Design" and then "Format Background".
2. A dialog box will open, check the box next to "Use a background image" and click on the "Select" button.
3. The File Manager will open where you can either upload the file from your computer or if it's already uploaded, select it from the File Manager.
4. Once uploaded, customize your settings - whether you would like the image to tile (repeat), where you would like the background to be located on the page and if you would like the background to scroll with the page or not.
**Apply to all pages:**
You can choose to apply the same background to all of the pages on your site instead of changing the background on each page individually:
1. Click on "Edit Page Design", then click on "Format Background" and "Apply to All Pages".
2. A dialog box will open asking you to confirm whether you would like to apply the change to all the pages on your site, click on "Apply and Save" if you would like to go ahead.

thanks for the response littleus. You're the only one in six months that gave me an answer. But six months ago I don't think the same options existed. I looked everywhere throughout the site and a couple of templates and could not find anywhere how to change the background images. But now my site's too far ahead to do it. I have a feeling that if I changed it, my colors wouldn't blend the same way. But it is possible to apply the background changes to one page correct? So I can change my homepage to suit holidays, etc.?
That's why I wish yola to be a CSS - that way we could format the whole site from one page (I think?)! -
Is it possible to change only what's on the outside of the margins so that where my text is stays the same but the outside maybe a lighter color or something? -
The functionality Littleus described was released on 25 July this year. There was lots of forum buzz at the time. Sorry you missed it! Here is a thread to help you get caught up: http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/per.... Prior to 25 July only 6 styles allowed you to change the background image via the Properties sidebar. There were many threads explaining that as well. If you only wanted to change the outside margins I would recommend either Burlap or Tastelessly as they are designed to allow you to do this. It is possible to apply a background image to your whole site or individual pages. -
Inappropriate?Hello Felipe
A job well done! You should be quite proud of how your site looks. It comes across as being informative, interesting and professional looking.
I would agree with Boomer's comment regarding your repeating image in the background. It may be nice to see this as one image. If this is something that you'd like to try and do, please follow these steps:
1. Go to "Edit Page Design".
2. Go to Page Background -> Format Background.
3. Select "No Tile".
4. Click on "Don't Scroll with Page"
5. Click on "OK". -
Inappropriate?hey Felipe... or anyone that knows... where did you get the forms you use on your prayer request page? I like those better than wufoo and form assembly.
-
Hello Donald
We got them from : FormAssembly.com -
Inappropriate?Your site is too cool...
Only thing I can say is what do you think about changing the red background color of the english, espanol signs to blue, to match your page and getting a code for background music instead of that widget thing? Some codes you can get I believe do come with the control options too... It might just be me, but I don't like to see the get widget buttons on webpages at least not mine...
I love it, it is really great! Lots of work too, you had to make two versions. WOW
I’m happy for you!

Hello Yola_User_A
Thanks for your comments. Regarding the code for background music. do you know where I could get the code for a player without any advertisement in it ?
Thanks -
Inappropriate?I just wanted to thank everybody for your comments and recommendations. I would also like to encourage everybody, as some have done, to share your links. This is a way of all learning from each other and creating community.
