meta tag that google webmaster looks for is different to that supplied by yola
Google webmaster tools is looking for a "google-site-verification" tag while yola only supplies a "MTAvWy8YEKEHh55pDcVpEDIavGQjR_Y98UESNXA9Qrw" tag. How do I get past the Google Webmaster tools verification stage?

Hey everyone,
It seems that Google Webmaster made a change on their side. We've adjusted things on Yola and you will be able to verify your site with Google Webmaster again. You will need to click on the "Update my Site" button before verifying on Google Webmaster.
Apologies for any inconvenience, they only released this info on their blog yesterday: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspo...

Inappropriate?Hi Jason,
To verify your site with Google Webmaster you need to use the meta tag option. It is very important that you copy the correct portion of the tag in order to be successful. Copy only the letter/number string between the quotation marks and paste it in the designated field in the Properties sidebar.
For detailed, step-by-step, instructions on how to verify your site with Google Webmaster and submit a sitemap, please see our Google Webmaster Tutorial - http://www.yola.com/tutorials/google-.... Please use our instructions and not Google's. Google's are written on the assumption that you are coding the website from scratch. Our instructions are written to work specifically with Yola.
Just a quick note as well - Google Webmaster are currently experiencing a problem with verifying sites. This seems to be a temporary issue on their side.
For more info, please refer to Google Webmaster Forum - http://www.google.com/support/forum/p...
We will keep an eye on this and let you know when it appears to be fixed. Sorry about the inconvenience, but this is a problem on Google's end that is out of our control. -
Inappropriate?I try this, and problem is that google request meta tag in this format:
<meta name="google-site-verification" />
and yola provide meta tag in:
<meta name="verify-v1" />
is there solution for this? -
Inappropriate?It would appear that Google has recently changed their verification method. See: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspo...
This means that our verification no longer works. We had no advance warning of this change and need a little bit of time to rewrite this feature.
Our engineers are working on this. Please bear with us until we have a solution. -
They must have just done this because my new site verified right off a few days ago....I am wondering if this will have any effect on sites verified with the old method. -
Inappropriate?Very recent. Like, yesterday. Check out this thread on Google Webmaster Tools:

Inappropriate?Hehe - I got the question completely wrong, but still got all the right answers :-)
I must have pasted the wrong thing - I meant to say that yola provides a "verify-v1" tag.
Anyway - I just tried it again after republishing my site, and it all works a treat. Thanks yola - that was a speedy response and fix.
