Online shop set-up failure driving me nuts!
I cannot use the product catalogue to set up my 'shop' on my site as PayPal can't be used in South Africa to accept payments only to make payments. Now what? I have looked at all sorts of options and haven't a clue as to how to get them on my site? They are definitely not as easy to use as the widget currently available.

Inappropriate?Just take it as you are not able to use paypal. Make it if someone wants to purchase a item direct debit only. You just have to give them your banking details

I have looked at the PayFast option which seems fine but the problem is when you download the available shopping carts, I am definitely not clued up enough to install these! So, can I not use the widget that Synthasite offers without logging on to PayPal and then do as Shaquille suggested, ask clients to pay direct to my personal bank account? -
Yes, tho i recommend that you get another we you don't have your main income going into incase a smart person wants to borrow money. So get a second account safer -
Inappropriate?Hi,
You can add them to your page using the HTML widget. It's a blue sphere in the Content sidebar at the right of your screen.
You would need to get the code from PayFast and then drag and drop the HTML widget onto your page and paste the code into it.
If you are using PayFast you won't be able to use the Online Store Widget, but will need to create the store from scratch.
We can help you with advice on how to do that.
If your clients are local you can easily do a bank transfer. If they are outside of South Africa the process is more difficult and subject to fairly hefty fees and charges. You would need to talk to your bank for more information on that.

I agree with Ruth on the charges. And Hi ruth haven't seen you lately -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the information - can you give me advice on how to create the store from scratch in PayFast and then get it as html to cut & paste?
I also see from other communications mals e-commerce - can this be used to cut & paste html onto my page? -
Inappropriate?Hi IdG,
You can check out this link: http://www.payfast.co.za/c/std/integr...
The 'Request Money' and 'Pay Now' buttons can be added to your site using their HTML code:
1. Drag-and-drop an HTML widget from the sidebar on the right onto your page (the icon for this is a blue sphere).
2. An HTML editor will open up that will allow you to write or paste your code (use right-click > paste or ctrl-V to paste).
3. When you are done, click "OK" and your HTML will be displayed on the page.
Visitors to your site will be click on the buttons and then be directed to Payfast's secure site to make the payment (in the same way as PayPal).
Hope that helps!
