Play FLV movie files on your website... A Honey Bear Playhomes tip...

As the FLV file usually requires a .js file to run an embedded player on your website and the .js file is currently on the banned file list because of the damaging effects that it can cause it is required that you use alternate means to play your video and not need any additional component.

To use a FLV video on your website it is quite simple:

1) Go to http://www.4shared.com/ and sign up for a free file hosting account
2) Once you log in your “Virtual Drive” will appear
3) In the “Upload File” box (Middle – Bottom) click the “Browse” button and find your FLV file on your computer and click “OK”
4) Click “Upload”
5) In the “File Links” pop-up box do NOT click any of the links but simply click “Done”
6) In your “Virtual Folder” an image of your video will appear. Click on it once and it will open in a new window or tab
7) Your video will begin playing on the screen. Look just below the video in the (Share) section and highlight and copy all the code in the “Embed” text box
8) Go to your site builder and drag an HTML widget (for left justified) or a Widgetbox widget (for center justified) and paste the code within

It is really that simple to do and plus you don’t need to upload your FLV files to your file manager which saves on file manager load times as FLV files are often quite large in size.

Happy site building
