Styles with Changeable Banners
Hi, just need a quick confirmation. For those of us using a style with changeable images, I am aware of two ways to change it: on a page, by changing the banner selection file in properties, and across an entire site, by replacing the existing file with a new one with the identical name.
The second method doesn't seem possible when changing, say, from a .jpg to a .png, because you can't rename a .png as a .jpg, and if you don't change the suffix, it won't find the file or know what type of file it is.
Am I correct? And, are there any workarounds that would allow me to change many pages at once?
I stupidly used a .jpg about 10 months ago and the file size slows down my pages. I need the efficiency of a smaller file size. You are all probably aware of this by now, so please don't misunderstand by garbled writing as a bug report. It's just an aspect of the system as I understand it, but I want to make sure there is no other option before I spend 5- 8 hours going page by page (it's a large site).

Inappropriate?Hi Bengo-
Have you tried reducing the file size first? Meaning...lowering the export quality just a bit?
Can you post a link to the site so that I can see the banner to which you are referring? As a visual person, seeing the question helps me to answer it most effectively.

Inappropriate?Bengo - I feel your pain here! I know how big your site is and how long it will take you to change all your banners. However, I am sorry to tell you that you are correct about the way the banners need to be changed at present. There is no way to do it at a site level - banners can only be edited at a page level.
I know we have discussed the need to be able to set properties such as this at a site level before and we certainly understand the need for this. We have a big project underway which will address this among other things. I am only sorry that I still don't have a better solution for you right now! -
Inappropriate? No pain. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't ignorant of any alternatives. With all the hours SynthaSite has saved me, I can bear doing one thing in a slow way. By the time I need it again, perhaps it will be resolved by pending improvements. Thanks for the reply.
