Transfering a Yola Domain Name
Thinking about buying domain name from Yola. If I need to sometime in the future, how do I transfer my domain name (purchased from and hosted by Yola) to another provider? How long does the process take?

There are two options when you want to move your domain away from Yola:
Option 1: You can edit your DNS settings so that your domain points to your new provider. Depending on the host you're moving to, it would either be editing nameservers or creating an A Record. This means that you will still get a renewal reminder from us 11 months after purchase. If you choose this option, please view this tutorial: DNS for your domain purchased from Yola .
Option 2: We can release your domain so that it is transferred to another domain registrar completely. You will receive a code from us that you can give to your new domain registrar. To unlock and transfer your domain, you can then follow these steps:
1. Login to your Yola account and make sure you are on the "My Sites" page
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tick the box next to "Enable advanced domain settings"
3. You will be scrolled back up to the top, click on "Advanced domain settings".
4. If you would like to transfer your domain to another domain registrar, untick the button next to "Lock this domain name". An email will be sent to you and it will contain the transfer code you will need to give to your new domain registrar in order to complete the transfer.
