URL says domain is pointing to Yola but Test Setup up does not.
Hi Yola,
Great site - thank you guys for being yo...la
I created an A Record which seems to have worked just fine as I get:
"Your domain is pointing to Yola!
Now you just need to publish your site and you're done!"
Yet the Test Setup states my URL is not pointed at Yola. What to do?
Regards,
Roger

Inappropriate? It sounds like one of your A records might be missing. You need 2. The hostname for one should be "@" or "*" and the hostname for the other should be "www". The IP address for both should be 208.75.208.172.
Can you tell me what your domain name is so I can check on it for you? -
Inappropriate?Hi Monique,
Our URL is www.fobaconnect.com. Tried working in the "@" as a second A Record but the system at MyDomains doesn't recognize this. Thanks for helping us here.

Inappropriate?Hello Fobaconnect
When I looked up your domain settings, you have 6 A records pointing to different IP addresses. You will need to delete all those A records. You have successfully set up 1 A record to point to Yola. So, now you just need to set up the second one for fobaconnect.com.
I hope this information helps. -
Inappropriate?Hi Monique,
Any ideas on my last comment? I'm kind of at a loss as to how to proceed as it seems clear that MyDomain has successful pointed the URL. Please help -
Hi fobaconnect,
Did you see Sanja's previous comment about your A Records? There are currently 6 A Records set that do not point to Yola's ip address. You need to remove those and make sure that you only have A Records pointing to Yola's ip address.
What I would suggest if you are having trouble with this is that you put in a support request to your domain registrar and let them know you need an A Record set for both the www and non www version of your domain name pointing to Yola's ip address, and the other A Records deleted, and are they able to help you. If they are not, and you continue to have trouble please email us at support@yola.com and we can try to assist you from there.
Thanks,

Inappropriate?Hi Emmy,
You guys are being kind in trying to help me out but it seems this is getting confusing for me. Pls bear with me here.
There are two point I need to make.
1) I only saw Sanja's message now (after my last message) - Where does she see these 6 A Records (on Yola or on MyDomain)? On MyDomain it clearly only indicates one A Record.

2) Once I find out where to delete, I have another problem - MyDomain gives me an error msg when I type in "@" or "*" in the field before fobaconnect.com
Thanks again for your patience.

I know this can be frustrating, DNS management is not an easy thing and since I do not have access to your registrar's interface I am unable to look at the settings myself.
I have however looked at the support pages for mydomain.com and although it is possible to edit the A Records, they do not give step by step instructions. Looking at that screen shot, the first record looks good, but there needs to be a place to add a second record. We can look up the public domain settings for any domain name (anyone can do this); and this is where we are finding the 6 A Records.
I think the best thing to do is submit a support request to mydomain.com with your situation to see if they can give you some more detailed instructions. Here is a link to their support page: mydomain.com support, the email option is at the bottom. If you would like to show us any instructions they give you we can try to assist further.
Kind Regards,

Inappropriate?Thanks Emmy,
I will do as you suggested and get back to you - thanks for being so clear despite the confusion.

Hello,
I have spoken with an engineer and the records in your screen shot look to be set up properly, but when a look up on the dns records is done, this is not what is set up, but something completely different; for some reason the records you set are not updating. This might be a problem with your DNS console, but we are not sure. Did you recently set these, or has it been more than 24 hours? If it has been more than 24 hours I would submit a support request to MyDomain and let them know you have set up the records in your domain manager, but they are not propagating, and do they have any help for you. Let us know how this goes.
