60 day renewal notice, I want to leave yola but keep my domain name

Hi I recieved my 60 day renewal notice for Yola Bronze not long ago, I want to move away from yola so I can build my own website since yola has been quite restrictive for me as a designer. BUT I want to keep my current domain name. How do I cancel my bronze subscription without loosing my domain name?

Obviously I know I will need to purchase my domain name separately from yola on a site such a go daddy, but will my domain be available to purchase? And what is the best way to transistion without a loss of service.

thank you

Hello Alicia

We're always sad to see a Yola user leave. Would you mind lettings us know what exactly you wanted to do and where Yola has been restrictive for you? That would be good for us to know, and maybe Yola offers something that you might have overlooked.

You're right that your hosting package and domain are separate from each other. This means that when your Bronze package expires, your domain will not necessarily automatically expire either; it depends on when you bought your domain. Your domain creativejunkie.co.uk will expire only in May next year, so there is still plenty of time. You will not need to cancel your Bronze subscription. Your auto-renewal for Bronze is turned off, and it will expire on 26 May this year, so you can just let it expire (you will still get reminders which you can ignore in this case). The transfer process can take a while until everything is finished, so you should start it in time.

To transfer your domain away from Yola, please follow the steps in our tutorial Transferring your .co.uk domain away. Please continue by e-mailing us on this matter to protect your privacy.
