Hi ILY,

The world's economy goes into a flat spin, Yola goes broke and you have basic access to Yola facilities as you would with a Free account. If you have any value add ons these will stop working such as Yola Mail, boost, Online Store etc.

All custom domain sites would become unpublished ( at the expiry time of your current Yola Silver subscription). Only two yolasite subdomain sites would remain published if they are published as yolasite sub-domains but the other site files will still be in your My Yola. You can reselect your two published sites as yolasite-subdomains.

If you have paid for any custom domains they will continue to remain yours until they expire at the end of the domain subscription period.

You don't lose any site files, just a limit on the ability to publish them.

Hi ILY,

Just to confirm, Gop is correct but I wanted to clarify one thing. Unless you have only 2 websites published to .yolasite subdomains at the time of your Silver expiry, all of your websites will become unpublished until you select the ones you want to republish in line with the Yola Free limits. Hope that makes sense!

I thought Bronze meant I can have 5 websites, not just 2? And, does this 5 (or is it 2?) include the one I've bought the domain of, or is it that one plus 5 (or is it 2) "free" ones? - And, I thought the email (mick@natterjackmagazine.com) came with the DOMAIN I bought, rather than with the Silver passage - so will it still work if I change to Bronze?

Sorry to have all these questions - I'm just looking at my options. I don't need 25 sites & I'm looking to save some money by changing to Bronze.

Oh and one more - do I lose the online store if I change to Bronze?

Hi mick,

With a Bronze Account you can have 5 published sites and his would include the site published with your custom domain. So a total of 5 published sites including any 4 Free yolasite subdomain sites.

Your Yola Mail would be retained with your Yola Mail subscription.

You can retain your Online store with an ongoing subscription for the Store and a Bronze subscription.

This is summarised in a table: Pricing

Sorry, I can't find the details from that link - maybe I'm looking at the wrong place ...

So, I'd need to pay for Bronze membership, plus pay for Yola mail, plus pay for online store subscription - is that still cheaper than renewing Silver?

PS when I look up "online store" it says: "Includes Yola Silver subscription with premium hosting" -

So if I doiwngrade to Bronze then renew my online store what happens? I'm confused.

The Online Store now includes Yola Silver. So you would pay that price for the Store subscription and get the Silver bundled. I don't know if they have now changed the Store being available for Bronze subscribers without being upgraded

You would still need to pay the Yola Mail subscription and your annual(?) domain registration fee.

You would need to contact Yola by email to find out the price and the possibility of discounts and deals if applicable. I don't know those details.

Hi Mick,

For the Yola Online Store to work on your account, you need to be subscribed to a hosting package. This means that you will definitely be able to continue using your store, even if you downgrade your package to the Yola Bronze subscription.

The cost of Yola Bronze is $4.95 per month or $49.95 per year. This package will allow you to publish your websites to your custom domains, as well as purchase additional low-cost domains and other add-on packages such as the Yola Online Store and Yola Mail.

Yola Bronze also includes:

Domain pointing.
The ability to build up to five sites.
2GB storage per site.
30 days’ Premium email and phone support.

I hope this clears up your questions.

Sorry, that's still not clear -

If I downgrade to Bronze, I'll still be able to use my online store - BUT - I'd have to purchase my Yola store as an add-on package?

Same for the Yola mail address?

5 sites at 2 GB each is probably enough for me, but I definitely want to keep the online store & the email address that goes with my site.

Can you tell me the TOTAL price for Bronze INCLUDING online store & email address, and how that compares to just renewing my Silver membership?

Hi Mick,

Your total would depend on your selection of monthly or annual packages for both hosting and the Yola Online Store. I would like to look into this for you and give you details specific to your account but the one associated with this forum doesn't have an Online Store subscription. Can you please share the website associated with the account you are referring to?

Hello Josephine - my website is www.natterjackmagazine.com. Click on "Natterjack Shop" on the top row to see the online store.

Don't know if I'm being particularly thick today but I'm getting increasingly confused: everyone seems to keep introducing new variables & complications? "Selection of ... packages for both hosting and online store"? I thought Bronze membership WAS a package.

Basically I have 2 sites & want to set up one more (for now); I want to keep the store so I can sell things; & I want to keep the mick@natterjackmagazine.com email account. I'm not bothered about the Premium templates etc as I can just use your plain ones & add my own graphics. And, I need to save money: I'm broke. Will Bronze do what I want to do, and will it work out cheaper?

Hi Mick,

I can understand how this can seem daunting. I have taken a look at your account, so hopefully I will able to assist you better.
Yola Bronze is our hosting package, with features such as domain pointing and capacity for up to five sites. Once you have purchased Yola Bronze, you can publish your sites to custom domains and there is no limit to the number of domains you can own.

In reviewing your account I can see that you are currently on the Yola Silver package and your site is currently published to your custom domain, natterjackmagazine.com. I've also noticed that your mailbox, mick@natterjackmagazine.com is not hosted through Yola and you are using our free Paypal Online Store widget. This means that you are not currently paying for Yola Mail or the Yola Online Store.

The cost to renew your Yola Silver is $88.00 per year and Yola Bronze is $49.95. If you would like to downgrade your package to Yola Bronze, you can certainly do so without any interruption of your current services. Under the Bronze package you can easily purchase add-ons such as Yola Mail and the Yola Online Store. If you would like Yola to host your mailbox, the cost is $9.96 per year and the Yola Online Store costs $100.00 per year.

Below is a break down of your current costs and the costs which you would expect to pay if you downgraded your account to Yola Bronze and purchased Yola Mail and the Online Store.

Your current costs:

Yola Silver- cost to renew for one year $88.00
Your domain, natterjackmagazine.com- cost to renew for one year $11.95

What you would expect to pay if you went with Yola Bronze:

Yola Bronze- cost per year $49.95
Yola Mail- cost per year $9.96
Yola Online Store- cost per year $100.00

I hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, but it's still a muddle.

So, Silver costs $88 + $ 11.95 = $99.95 -

Or Bronze costs $49.95 + $9.96 + $100 = $159.91 -

Though in fact wouldn't I still need to pay for the domain too? So, add another $11.95 & Bronze comes to $171.86.

So, Bronze costs more than Silver then?

It looks like you have this all well sorted below but I just wanted to clarify that Josephine was listing our package pricing but also tried to explain you weren't making use of the paid online store subscription or the paid mail subscription so those numbers were just FYI. Sorry if it added to the confusion.

It did! So (if I'm right?) I can still use the free paypal widget for free? When I( go Btronze? Presumably there's some advantage in the one that costs money (we can offer a bigger range for sale or something?) - but I can't imagine ever selling enough stuff to warrant $100 in costs. Plus, I can't see why anyone would pay for an email service when you can get a free one.

You need to add the cost of the Online Store to your Silver total. It's not included with Silver, it's an add-on. So is the Yola mail an add-on with Silver.

But apparently my email isn't hosted thru Yola: I set it up so long ago that I don't remember how I did it, frankly.

And apparently my online store isn't either. I have the (quote) "free paypal online store widget", which apparently is different from the $100 "add on" Yola online store - have I got this right?

You would only pay for Yola purchased products.
The PayPal widget is free and is not the Online Store

I still can't work out HOW to change from Silver to Bronze. My Silver expires tomorrow. Do I have to wait till it expires, and then re-join as a Bronze member? Any help would be appreciated - I'd like to get this sorted. Thanks.

easiest way is to allow it to finish. You have at least the 24 hour period of the expiry date to renew before "lights out". Perfect time to renew under a different hosting plan.

Gop is correct, you need to let Silver expire first then select Bronze. We are working to make this more intuitive going forward thus easier to downgrade in the midst of your subscription.

Thanks for this - I'll see if it works! Last time I looked, there wasn't an option to renew under a different hosting plan: just renew Silver, or download to Free. Maybe once Silver actually aspires (today apparently) the Bronze option will come up.

Hello Mick,
I have a look at your website, http://www.natterjackmagazine.com/
Is it under Bronze package?
I don't see the Yola footer. Can you please explain that?
I also like your online shop which apparently is free. Nice ...

Hi - yes it's Bronze. Can't afford Silver anymore. Eventually I worked out that if you just let Silver expire you can then renew it as Bronze. Doesn't have so many features & you can't make so many websites but it's OK.
The Yola footer seems to come & go, on some pages but not all of them - no I can't explain why, I have no control over that.
Yes the shop looks quite nice but it never sells much. If it did I could go Silver again!
