I have had a free website with my domain registered with GoDaddy. I am reading a lot of things on this community powered support page. I have had no emails from Yola concerning this. I am due in July to renew my domain with GoDaddy. Has this all changed here at Yola? This support system is so hard to navigate because I am reading answers that were posted here a year ago, 4 years ago. And it makes everything very confusing. This is the picture that I get. Am I reading it correctly? If I renew my GoDaddy domain with them, for 12.99 per year, do I then have to upgrade to Silver and pay $99.95 a year for my web hosting?

Hi Harlean,

You will be able to host your website with your GoDaddy domain on Yola Bronze or Yola Silver. We did send emails to all our members when we released our new packages at the end of last year. You may also find this blog post announcing the change to be helpful as well as the FAQ's

n you explain this to me........you need to cancel your package in the “Accounts” section of My Yola, and then ensure that you meet the requirements of a Free account (this could include reducing the number of sites you have created, and freeing up storage space to meet the Free limits). We will provide you with a list of items that need to be addressed in order to adhere to the limits of our free service.
If I transfer my domain name to Yola, am I still able to have my free account and have it published?

Hi harlean,

To publish a site to a custom domain (eg: mysite.com) then you need to purchase a hosting plan from Yola. This is the same as the need to publish to a custom domain from Yola or Godaddy or any other source. It doesn't matter whether or not your domain is registered by Yola, Godaddy or anther registrar and it doesn't matter whether or not you transfer your domain from an external registrar to Yola. for this reason.. The hosting plan (Bronze or Silver) allows you to do this whereas a free plan now does not.

The hosting plans available are Bronze or Silver see here: https://www.yola.com/pricing for pricing and an outline of features.
