.ca domain name, 405: Registry error

I'm trying to point my Yola-purchased domain to Wordpress, but keep getting an error that says: "405: Registry error, domain's nameservers not updated [Object status prohibits operation]". It's been 48 hours since I purchased the domain. It's a .ca domain ... is this because of the mysterious 60 day waiting period with .ca domains? If not, is there anything I can do? I'm on a tight timeline! Thanks for your help!

Hi Miriam

You may be getting the error because there is a longer waiting period for .ca domains.

I will ask our savvy DNS team to take a look and reply to you on this thread.

Sorry about the wait!

Miriam, one more thing...

Can you please give us your domain name so we can check on the details for you?

Thanks

If you can followup with me on that thread it would be great!

Is there any way I can send it by email rather than here? Thanks!

Hi there, I got an email from the domain experts and they were talking about transferring to another registrar. I don't want to transfer; I just want to point the domain to Wordpress because, while I always purchase domains from Yola, this is a blog and not really suited to Yola. I've done it before, but not with a .ca domain ...

Hi Miriam,

I suggest you reply back to that email letting them know that. To my knowledge, the process would be the same to point a .ca domain to another host such as Wordpress, without transferring it. To do this you would edit your DNS settings, either by editing nameservers or creating an A Record.
