Hello,

So, after spending the better part of this month trying to transfer my domain to Yola,I discover that there is no way I can publish sites to my own sub-domains. This was the only reason why I decided to transfer my domain to Yola so I can control everything from within, However I learned that this is not possible, or maybe I am missing something.

I am at the moment considering my options of moving from the Yola platform altogether as I ran into soo many problems lately.
Yola's customer support was great and helpful, that is when I got answers in a reasonable time, however this was not always the case.
Case and Point being this curent situation, as I posted my problem 5 hours ago and still no answer!

I hope Yola can still live up to its renown customer support, and I really hope that I will be able to easily publish, sites to my subdomains.

Thanks for your help, and sorry for the ranting but I am really anxious and frustrated by this issue!

Let me get this straight:

You have a domain outside of Yola that you want to put into Yola, but you can't set up any subdomains?

If that's not your issue, tell me and I'll see if my not so extensive knowledge can help. If not, a Yola minion will take a look :D

Thanks for your answer Will,
I have recently transfered a domain to yola, so I am able to edit the advanced DNS settings within Yola. An I am able to add A record to create subdomains, however I cannot publish sites to these subdomains.

So you've made the domain in the DNS settings, and It's not showing up when you go to publish a site and select the option that I think says "publish to a domain I already own"?

Have you seen this tutorial yet?

Hi, DG,

Sorry you've had a frustrating time. Currently, sub-domains need to be created by our tech team. Publish to a free yolasite subdomain (yoursite.yolasite.com) then send an email to us at support@yola.com letting us know the yolasite name and the subdomain you want created. Thanks.

Diane,
Thanks for your help and advice. I will folow your advice in order to be able to publish my sub-domains. However I've noticed that people are complaining about this problem since few years back, so it is definetly something more than a bug. I realy hope that Yola will consider making this process easier, as it is a little bit frustrating having to do this every time I want to edit my sub-domains.
