Sorry for vagueness of my title but I didn't know how to title it.

I have a very urgent site I need to put together for an upcoming fundraiser and I need to ask if I pu a side together and I don't need a custom domain and just publish with a .yolasite.com doe this still get indexed and how long does it take please? Actualy I have no idea about what all this indexing thing is about :(

Thank you in advance, back tomorrow.

INDI

PS: Is there any way possible that Yola can fix this text box so that the "Add an Image" and also the (Some HTML allowed) fields are not smack bang right in the middle of where a person is trying to write their post and obscuring at least 2 lines of text ???

I went to edit my bad typos BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE what I was typing behind the damn "Add an Image" or (Some HTML allowed) bits showing within where I type my question...grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Even in edit mode it's still obscured so my apologises for the bad "typonese"!!!

Can Yola pleeeeeeeeeeeeze look at that or is it just me who encounters this problem ????

Hi Indi,

No particular type of domain name guarantees you a high search engine ranking.

It is the quality of your site, how often you update it, how useful it is for visitors, and how many other sites link to you that influence your ranking.

Many people have had a great deal of success with the search engines using free subdomains, but many people choose to purchase a custom (.com) domain now or at a later stage because it is easier for visitors to find and remember. Buying a custom domain also gives you search engine dominance for the keywords used in your domain.

A great first step to help your rankings is to submit your website to Google - instructions for doing so can be found here: http://www.yola.com/tutorials/google-....

Yola has developed a short series of SEO Tutorials which will take you through the process of building, maintaining and promoting your website with search engine optimization in mind, here is a link: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/....

With regard to the other issue of not seeing the text box - is that a problem here on the forum? Would you be able to post a screenshot of what you see?

Hi thank you for your fast response :) To be honest the ranking or indexing of the site I was referring to is maybe irrelevant. It was just suggested to me today that if I could put together a website with the recent TV and magazine stories it would make and give me more credibility to the fact I wasn't just a 'somebody' trying to raise money for a 'no real reason cause' which made sense. I have all info and everything that people would probably want to know to know this was legitimate. Anyone reading, go google "Dakoda-Lee Stainer" that's who i'm doing this for, a very close family friend.

As for the other problem of that blasted "add an image" thingy it seems to happen when i start a new thread not respond as i've just done now but I most certainly will take a screenshot and post it, it happens most every time and I feel like a real doofus in the typo department purely cos I can't see BEHIND the thing...lol.

** When I get the site done with all relevent info, blah blah and it's looking good and I hit "publish" then am i completely safe to then print this and tell people to check out the the site ********.yolasite.com ????

I guess that's ultimately what I was asking, I just got lost behind them other dang things in ya comment area....lol

You need to be indexed and you can do that using sub domains....Google has something called custom search that is free and easy to install.....now you may or may not like it but it has a feature called on demand indexing(because they want people to use their search) Of course you still need to verify with Google and submit your sitemap.xml but this does hurry up the process. Here is the link to custom search if you would like to check it out.....http://www.google.com/cse/

Thank you John :) I will most definately check that out what you have suggested above, but I'll have to do it in the morning, although it's already morning here, 2.13am :( I understand where people where coming from so the fundraiser was in fact legit.

>>Marije<< I have a screenshot but dunno how to put an image here on a post :( It's waaaaaaaaaaaaay late for me to be messing with this kinda stuff, surely it wouldn't be as simple as just uploading from "my puter" ???

Ok, so now I can't even find quickly which folder I saved it too :( this will have to be a tomorrow moring task because this really does need addressing, it happens all the time.

G'nite peoples, have a great day.....lol

Hey Indi - to add the picture, click on "Add an image" in the empty post. Browser your computer for the file and click on Upload. It will add an image link that will display the image when the post is submitted.

Ok so i'm bumping this back to top and yes I know i'm doubling up because I have posted on my other thread.....i seriously could not find where I saved the other screenshot too but since I am still encountering this problem this screenshot is from yesterday when I was posting.

Actually, i've just noticed this ONLY happens when I start a new topic, as I type now and go to a new line the ADD AN IMAGE and (Some HTML allowed) is actually scrolling down with me.....so only on new topic....it's still a right pain though I tell ya....lol...

Hello Indi- I have responded in your other thread. It is helpful if you post the same information once so we can keep one employee helping you. I understand that this is frustrating for you and we want to help you eliminate the text that is appearing when you are creating a new topic. Please see the response I gave in your other post. Cheers!

Sorry for the double up, I wasn't sure if I should have come back to where I originally stated about it. Off to other post to read, thanks and sorry once again.
