Hello everybody!

I'm a relativly new yola user, but i find that i have been gaining experience and useful knowledge from all sorts of places, and i think that now it would be a great time for me to share this knowledge with you all.

Programs To Use - You won't need to know how to code :)

1. The Gimp - An Image Editor very similar to photoshop, free to download! I use it to make backgrounds, logo's, thumbnails and basically anything image based!

2. CofeeCup DHTML menu builder - This is also free to download, and lets you create very unique and custmisable menu's for your website.

3. PowerBullet - This incredible piece of software is also free to download, and lets you create powerful flash objects for your website.

4. This isn't really a program, but Google offer loads of wonderful services. Adsense being the most useful because it makes you MONEY. Analactics can also give you an idea on whos viewing your site, and they even offer things like search bars!

Creating Your Site

Before you begin, you should have a good idea for your website, and make sure that the domain name you would like is available or one that you own. Before you start with the actual creation of your site, look around at other sites offering similar services and take the best bits of each of them and use them on your own site without ripping them off too much! Also, you should put yourself in the shoes of your customers, or viewers and think about what they wan't from your site. Then use the fantastic yola site builder to create your dream site!

Make Twitter, facebook, and youtube accounts to help advertise your website. Using videos on youtube to promote you site is a great ,and free, way to go about doing things. Advertising with Google ad-words is also an option. Word of mouth is also another good way to promote your site so tell your friends!

Well that concludes my brief tutorial, i hope it helps you and feel free to give me feedback. I know i've made errors and that this is probably in the wrong section or something but i hope it helps you nevertheless.

Have fun!

Thanks for the list. I want to add one more, http://www.mioplanet.com/products/pix..., which is a pixel ruler. It's a very simple ruler that lays on top of your browser, can be used vertically or horizontally and be dragged anywhere on the page to measure images, boxes, etc. I've used it for years and highly recommend it.
