Hello, I am trying to change my A Name to a subdomain or, I even have the value of where the site should point to. I don't think I'm doing it correctly :(

Domain Name: www.mariannie.ca

I would like it pointed to: http://onesheet.mariannie.com

Here are the instructions on the one sheet website:

Onesheet Custom Domains

Onesheet lets you use your custom domain name (youname.com) with Onesheet!

First, log into your account and go to your Onesheet. Then, under "Onesheet Settings" go to Custom Domain and enter the domain name you want to use. It can be yourname.com, or a subdomain like onesheet.yourname.com.

Then you need to change your domain settings.

Because this requires you to change settings with you domain registrar, it's not as easy as we'd like it to be. If you have technical friends who might be able to help, please ask them for assistance if it's not working.

To set your domain up with Onesheet, follow these steps:

Log into your registrar and find the DNS admin. you should see settings for A, CNAME and MX records
Remove all "A" records with the value "@" for host
Create a new "A" records with host set to "@" and the value set to '184.169.138.31'
Create another "A" record with the same values but using the ip '23.21.160.181'
It may take up to 72 hours for the change to take effect. If things have been set up properly, you should see your Onesheet!

To set up a subdomain: (ex: http://onesheet.yourdomain.com)

if you would like to use a subdomain (ex: http://onesheet.yourname.com), just follow the steps above except use the subdomain instead of the "@"
Note:
if your domain with 'www' is not pointing to Onesheet, you will need to edit the CNAME record to be host:"www" and value:"@"
If you go to your domain and see the Onesheet homepage, it means the domain you are using isn't the same as the one you entered into your Onesheet settings.

Hi Mariannie

I had a look at your domain details and do not see the subdomain set up there. We are able to create the subdomain, onesheet.mariannie.ca, for you. Please create a site in your Yola account and follow the steps here : Creating subdomains with your Yola-bought domain.

Let us know once you are done, let us know and we will set up the subdomain and point it to Onesheet using the DNS details they provide.

Sorry I also forgot to add that I followed the instructions via link you sent me, and used Yola's IP address 184.72.229.176 with two rows of A records. The first A record is Yola's IP address. The second row is the same but with www.onesheet.mariannie.com in the name field. Let me know if this is correct, and if so, can you please publish the subdomain?

Thank you.

Hi, I am not sure if I did it correctly via the link instructions you sent me. I made the changes anyways. Can you review it and let me know if I have to change it again?

Thank you.

Hi Mariannie

The way you have done it is not correct. We need to create the subdomain for you before we can point it.

Please create a blank website and publish it to a yolasite.com subdomain (you can use any available subdomain). Then post the link to that site here and we'll complete the subdomain setup.

Thanks!

Hi Nazlie,

Thank you for your response. The link (subdomain that is blank) is mariannie.yolasite.com

Will onesheet.com/mariannie point to www.mariannie.ca using this subdomain?

Thanks.

Mariannie

Hi Mariannie

Thank you for setting up the site. We have created the subdomain onesheet.mariannie.ca and changed the A Records as per the instructions you provided. Please note that it can take 48 hours to update.

Once it is set up, it will display your onesheet site and you will be able to link to your other site, http://www.mariannie.ca.

Let us know if you need more help.

Hi,

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately the site is still not pointing to the subdomain:

www.onesheet.com/mariannie

Is there any way for me to fix this?
