I wanted to create a vertical tab on the one side of the website which would link to a page. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Here's an example that I found on Kent's site:

This one slides in and that you have to click on link. You can have more that one link on tab. Float up-down as you move page and is horizontal rather than vertical. Think I got that right

I ended up using a floating script instead. Take a look:

Littleus, why is the visits box not aligned with the widgets about it? They are in my template and when "I" open the site! This sidebar is from the widget gallery, just wish it was level across when set to the side.

Hi Kent

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Do you think you could clarify further and hopefully I'll have some answers. What are the "visit box" you're talking about? Is this your site you're seeing this problem or on the Yola Code site? What sidebar are you talking about? What do you mean by "level across when set to the side". Sorry for so many questions but hopefully with your answers, I can figure out what is going on. =)

To answer your question Littleus:
#1- The box at bottom right "TOTAL VISITORS" is to be aligned with those above it. But nevermind that now, it has been replaced.
#2-I talk about the screenshot you made from you PC, and after looking it over again, I see you must have a bigger monitor than 1280x1024!
#3- The sidebar is what you have outlined in red in the screenshot, if I put it a the bottom, it reads across the page like normal script, but is then in the way the other images on the page. But if I place to the side like it is, them the script is sideways, as is your script too. Even if vertical, the letters should remain horizontal in my opinon!

Addressing the following:

#2 - yes.. my screen is bigger than 1280x1024. I think it's 1440 in width.

#3 - For my sidebar, I actually just made it with Microsoft Publishing. Then, save it as a jpg and inserted using the img. src code. You could probably do the same on Publishing but make your text horizontal if you want. I just chose to do it vertically.

On your tutorial for adding a link to an image....How about expanding it just a little and show how to add the alt text tag? It really does does help with images coming up in searches...I get site visits all the time from image searches....That was not happening until I added tags ....Oh I left you a message on your test site as you requested but I never heard back from you.

I will definitely to that.. thanks John... that Tip and Tweaks page is currently under construction and is actually not yet accessible through the menu.

As for the message.. I never got it! Weird... Would you mind trying it one more time as I'm concerned that I'm not getting these messages then!

Hi Sanja,

Hoping you get this as I am adding the message to an old topic. I am looking to do what was done in the example you refer to on the Yola Code Site. The link above is http://yolacodes.yolasite.com/createi.... When I go to this, there is an example of a floating box that says "Return To Tips & Tweaks". I was hoping to do this on my site with a button that is for site feedback (just like the one shown posted by you at the start of this topic). However, when I go to the code site, there is not quite enough information for me on how to accomplish this.

Are you able to point me to instructions that might provide more detailed information for me on how to add this to my site? (My site is www.adoptionottawa.ca)

Thanks,

Jordan

Hello Jordan,

The page was actually under construction at the time and never got completed. The floating box was simply a tool for users who reached that page to navigate back to the Tips and Tweaks page. There was never supposed to be a code available for you to grab.

If you wish to try and implement this, you can use the instructions given here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/staticmenu.htm.

I did make some alterations to make this work. As this is external coding, the resources available to assist with this is limited. We are only able to assist with codes directly related to the CSS in the Sitebuilder.

I wish you the best of luck with this. If you do happen to get stuck, you can always post on her and other HTML savvy users may be able to assist further with this.
