When using a site search from a service such as sitelevel. They may allow indexing your domain AND your subdomains, but you may have to manually insert the subdomains and they won't let you know and it's not in the faqs. For sitelevel, the site search I use, under website information, enter your subdomains as secondary entry points. I did this and reindexed the site. It worked successfully. Typing in for example, "dentistry" in my search box will pull up searches for my primary domain and my subdomain.
