My email account had started saying the mail is rejected by the server, unable to relay. It's been driving me mad, I've tried everything, from my PC, IPad.

Hi again

Sorry as I'm unable to email from my mydomain.biz account I'll use my work.

I have my daughters Iphone, my iPhone, my PC and my IPad all working fine. I also have emails set up and working on those bits if kit with strato. I had no problems until around 5 days ago when anything associated with mydomain.biz stopped sending.

I have attempted all of the fixes online and in the help forum.

If it was one machine I would understand it could be the set up, for 4 bits of kit thay now have the same problem.

Hello,

This error is normally due to your third party mail client failing to authenticate your outgoing settings. Visit this webpage for steps to correct it: Relay not Permitted.

Please let us know if you continue having trouble.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried that and the point I don't get is all was well until around 5 days ago, then 4 devices stopped sending emails from the same domain name.

If it was one device I'd understand, it's 2 IPhones, 1 PC and 1 IPad.

As I said, it was fine until 5 days ago.

Something changed.

I have gone through the page, that is already as per my settings.

Hi Mark,

When someone receives a relay not permitted error, it means they are not permitted to send an email via the server that they are attempting to send an email from.

When you are using an external client, like Outlook or Thunderbird, the only method we can use to detect if a user is our customer and therefore allowed to send emails from our servers, is by requiring them to authenticate themselves with their username and password.

Since we don't have any access to your client, this authentication must be managed on your end.

We don't need authentication when you use webmail, as you login to that account to access the mail server. Please test your webmail to see if you receive any errors:

http://mail.groombridge.biz/mail

Next, please let us know the exact client that you are using on your devices, as well as each of the settings that you are entering. This will help us use your client provider's help documentation to assist you. You can also work with their support team for assistance with authentication.

It would also be helpful if you could let us know the exact error message you are receiving along with the specific settings you have entered into the client.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help.

As per the email I have sent back with a little more private detail.

When I logged in to webmail on the yola link I got the same message.

This was the message "............
Compose Unable to send e-mail: 554 5.7.1 : End-of-data rejected: user not permitted to relay

This has to be at Yolas end.

The settings are all as per the site instructions, mail.domain.biz and authenticated.

This affects two out of three email accounts on my Groombridge.biz. The other works fine and I have checked the setting on that IPhone against the others.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your update. I located the email that you sent and your case has been referred to a Yola Mail specialist. I would suggest that you also provide us with the additional details of the exact client that you are using on your devices, as well as each of the settings that you are entering.

This will allow us to test the mailbox with these precise parameters as well as with different settings to see if the issue is limited to a particular combination.

Thanks for your help!
