I have added a add this button to my site previously i had it above my blog widget but did not like the position and had the idea to put it into the html code of each post which works but i have lost some functionality... when you mouse over the add this button it no longer shows a drop down menu.

Any help is appreciated.

site is here

Hi airsupport,

Sometimes javascripts dont work in the blog posts.

You can only really check you have all the code included.

I notice from your page source code that there is no javascript code - the last part of that add this code is usally a jvascript link - perhaps you are adding it but its getting rid of it for you.

Hope this helps a bit - Lee.

Hello,

I'm sorry you are having trouble with that. I have taken a look at the code and tested it in a blog post, and outside of a blog post, and it does not produce a drop down in either place. But when I click on it it gives me another page with a list of the options for sharing. I can't tell by looking at the code if it is supposed to produce that or not as it is pulling from another location.

Possibly someone else here will have an idea on how to change that. Or else I would suggest seeing if the entity you got the code from has any idea why the drop down is not displaying.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_...>

I dont know if he has added it and then the blog deleted it or if its just missing?

Glad to see its working - excellent idea - put the java part of the code outside the blog post and the share button inside.

I would never have thought that would work.

Excellent work around which i dont think has been done before.

I'm sure it will be usefull for other, it might work in other blog posts not displaying java situations aswell.

Lee.
