I would like to translate my website into Portuguese and maybe later also into German. What is the best way to do that with yola? My site is about a village in the Algarve in Portugal and it would be nice for the local people to read it too.
I hope you can help me.

Hi Marianne,

You can add a button that will translate the page/website, more information on this link: http://cs.yola.com/index.php?pg=kb.pa....

Alternatively, you can build two websites in each language and link them to each other. This option is a bit more time consuming and I would recommend trying out the first option first.

Please let us know if you need any other assistance.

I think one possible way to get a multilingual site is to set up three sites with three different domains.
For instance:
www.explample.com (default site in English)
www.pt.example.com (secondary site in Portuguese)
www.de.example.com (secondary site in German)
And link each other with the typical flag or something similar. But as Marije suggested it is very time consuming and hard to maintain (other collateral problems as SEO ranking divided into three domains, etc)

Marianne please let us know which option you finally choose, and how it work for you.
Good luck

Hi Marianne,

I have built my website in two languages previously, each page has a "sister" page in the other language. The menu issue is a little tricky, but not too complicated to make the new menus with a good (and free) menu generator. See the following topic, hopefully you could find it useful: http://tinyurl.com/yfy7vw6

Thank you very much for thinking with me. For me, the reply from Valika is the best solution. The on-line translating button I use now is not really working well, so a real translation should be made.
Your site surfes really nicely en clear. Thanks again form Portugal!
