Hi Callum,

If the banner image can be changed, you will see a white box with an instruction placed over the default banner image.

To change the banner image:
1) Click on the white instruction box that says "click here to change banner image"
2) The file manager will open up that will allow you to browse your computer for a picture to upload.
3) When you are done, click "ok" and your own image will replace the default image
4) If the dimensions are not quite right you can fix this by choosing the "edit with Picnik" option in the file manager. Picnik is a web-based image manipulation tool that has an option for you to resize your image. When you are done, click "save to SynthaSite" and the new image will replace the old one.

Please note that the white instruction box will only appear in editing mode, and will disappear when you preview or publish your site. Also, you may use the default banner image if you wish

Hi Harry. With our current styles this is not possible. When we release more advanced style options we will try to make it possible for you to have more control over the banner region of your page. I am sorry that I could not be of more help with this request right now.

Hi Beth,
There still isn't a way to move things around in the banner area, although you can create your own banner with some kind of a banner make program and set it up however you would like. If you are using a style that has the ability for the banner to be changed there will be a white box in this area with recommended dimensions for the banner. When you create your banner, it will look best if you keep to these dimensions. I have used a banner maker program called Banner Maker Pro that works quite nicely. It isn't free but does have a trial version if you would like to check it out Banner Maker Pro. I hope this helps.

Okay Beth, the template your using has an editable banner. When you are on the page that lets you update you blog and such, look up at the banner picture. There is a white rectangle there that recommends the dimensions of any image you wish to insert in that area. click on that white box, and you'll be able to upload a new banner image into that space.

Hello Beth,
fileden.com is what is called a hosting service. A service like this allows you to store files, such as music, and access it for use when you want to.

The way you could use that with your website is to create the hotlink to your fileden.com storage. This is very straight forward.

Fileden.com have a FREE service as well as a paid service.
The free service allows you:
1GB of personal storage space.
A 50mb maximum file size limit
5GB of monthly bandwidth

You could use your Synthasite account to do the same for free.
Unlimited personal storage space
15 mb maximum file size limit
Unlimited monthly bandwidth.

To use Fileden you follow their instructions. To use Synthasite: you select File Manager in the web-site builder. Select you music files you wish to store in your Synthasite account and hit enter. It will take some time to upload and that would mostly depend on the number of files you wish to store That's it. You must not have any one file greater than 15 mb, but you could have many 15mb files to upload.

Hope this helps.

Hi Beth a bit of a follow up,

Mr John just advised me that you must have the rights to the music for storing them on public sites and that audits do occur by ASCAP and penalties are handed out.

It would be sad if peoples large collections were scrubbed because of copyright issues and a lack of understanding.

Hi Beth

I see you are having difficulties with your banner and I can only assume that you think that to have pictures and content on top of the flower looks not too nice. Am I right?

If so I have edited the image and moved the flower more to the upper right and added pink to the bottom and the left side. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. ;)

All you need to do is click on the image and then in the next window when it gets bigger just right click on the image then save it to your computer. Then upload to your file manager to replace the banner image.

Happy site building
Ed

Hi Beth

I noticed that you changed your banner to the one I provided but you saved the reduced size and not the enlarged one. There is a sizable difference from one to the other.

Here is the direct link to the larger image for you to save the same way you did with the smaller one...
