adding content to area of the template other than widgets area (as in the sample "Tropical" template pictured) i.e. lower left corner under "home". how do I do that?

how do I choose text size and font? Is the only way to type it up and copy and paste?

also, everytime I edit text in the bottom of the page, the page jumps to the top and I can't see what I'm editing. wtf?

sooo frustrated!

Hi CL

I will try to answer your questions as best I can below:

Q: "adding content to area of the template other than widgets area (as in the sample "Tropical" template pictured) i.e. lower left corner under "home". how do I do that?"
A: Unfortunately at the moment you are only able to edit the widget region. We are constantly working on providing increasing flexibility to our users in terms of what they can do, while at the same time ensuring that the tool is as simple as possible to work with. Multiple region editing is something we are looking into at this stage.

Of course, if you do want ultimate flexibility, you can download the site (publish and select "Download your site and host it yourself"), and then edit the source - although I would only recommend this if you are proficient in HTML and know a bit about PHP.

Q: how do I choose text size and font? Is the only way to type it up and copy and paste?
A: You can edit text size and font (and a whole bunch of other things) using the Text widget. When you are in edit mode using the text widget, have a look at the toolbar at the top of the tab which says 'text editing'. The button 5th from the left allows you to edit the font, and the button 7th from the left allows you to edit the font size.

Q: also, everytime I edit text in the bottom of the page, the page jumps to the top and I can't see what I'm editing. wtf?
A: That sounds like a bit of a bug. If you could give us some more details (such as the browser you use and the operating system) we can try re-create and fix this problem.

Thanks,
Christo

Thanks for your reply, Christo.

Browser: FF v2.0.0.14, OS: winXP.

As I keep adding text or other widgets and double click the area to edit, it does not stay on that page area but rather "jumps" to the top so that the editing area stays where it was (i.e at the bottom) and I cannot see it. Pretty frustrating. The only page area there is no problem with is whatever is normally visible without scrolling.
HTH.

Hi try using firefox when you work on your site(this will solve all your errors about the bottom and top of the pag deal), also once your editing your text on the toolbar there is color and size editing options..and about adding content to the area of the template w/o using widgets, im not sure what you mean.

I AM using FireFox (FF), that's the only browser I use. So that does not solve any errors that I'm experiencing. But thanks for the suggestion.

Christo from Sythasite knew I meant about adding content outside of widget area, so no worries.

What I meant with text editing: the options are so limited on the toolbar that if I want something fancier, I have to copy and paste from a different program (thankfully it retains formatting).

Hi again CL.

We will look into that problem you are talking about with the page jumping to the top. Thanks for giving us that extra information.

With regards to the text editor option, what extra features do you feel that you need?
