I am using the text widget to drop in a photo and wrap text around it. However, I cannot figure out how to add a margin around the photo, so that the text is not so close it.

How can I accomplish this?

You can do this with CSS mel. All 4 sides can be independently marginalised or selected sides can be altered http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_marg...

Would the CSS be done globally or by inserting HTML into the text widget. I assume it would be a style addition to the img tag, yes?

Hi Mel
When you use the text widget for an image a 4px margin is automatically generated in the img tag, click on the html link on the toolbar and increase this figure, alternatively if you would like individual margins for each side insert this:
margin:0px 0px 0px 0px; (top,right,bottom,left) and increase the px values accordingly.
