Adding picture with link - not opening in different window

I added a picture and linked it to a website; so you click on the picture it takes you to the website. I checked the option "Open in new window" hoping customers won't get out of my website to visit other links. But still, the link opens in the same window (not even different tab) as my website. What to do?

Hello Aarti,

If this doesn't correct you can try using HTML rather than the widget.
<a href="http://target link" target="_blank">
<img width="x" height="y" border="0" align="center" src="http://your image address"/>
</a>

The height and width dimensions are in pixels. The border can be turned on by changing the 0 to 1 and the align can be set to left , right or center.

Hello Aarti,

I am sorry I was too cryptic with the outlining of this code and thanks for getting back to me.

To apply this HTML:

Copy the above code into Notepad
Add your target link address to replace the phrase referred to in the code I gave.
Add the image width and height to the fields indicated or simply leave these out if your stored image has the correct dimensions already.
Add your image storage address to the line indicated in the code.
Copy all the revised code.
Drag an HTML widget over from the Yola widget collection in the Basic category.
Paste the code into the HTML widget.

If this is moving ahead of your learned skills then I am more than happy to help you further. Please contact me at gop@designscent.com

Hi Aarti

Did you use the Picture Widget or did you add your picture to a Text Widget? The Open in a new window option should be working again. There is currently an error with being able to select pictures added to the Text Widget in order to make them links, and I've brought it to our specialists' attention. Selecting does work in Firefox and Internet Explorer. Please use one of those browsers if you want to link a picture in a Text Widget.

Before retrying please clear your cache and cookies. If the Open in a new window option is still not working on your end, please let me know your URL and which browser, browser version, and operating system you're using, and I will investigate further.
