Hello Mark,

When you change your domain name it will take some time for the search engines to pick up your new domain name and that the site has changed. Because the subdomian redirects to the custom domain, if that link still shows up anywhere people will still get to your site.

If you originally verified your site as a subdomain with Google Webmaster and submitted a sitemap, but have now upgraded to a custom domain you will need to re-verify your site with Google Webmaster and submit another sitemap. This will allow Google Webmaster to begin returning statistics on your new custom site.

What you need to do is remove the original Google Webmaster meta tag that you put into your home page and go back through the Google Webmaster tutorial for the new custom domain you have now published to. Here is a link to the tutorial: Google Webmaster Tutorial.

The best thing to do right now is to keep adding fresh content to your site and continue to build backlinks to your site.

Hope this helps!
