Does age of domain increase your ranking in Google? My domain youcanneverbetoosmart.com has been registered now for 1 year, just wondering if age of domain/stability is a factor in Google's index.

I get 300 visitors a day too... is that considered good? Considering two months ago I was lucky to get 25 a day lol

300 a day is good and congratulations your patience has paid off well.

Domain age isn't thought to be as important as the period ahead that your site is registered for.

Having said that your site age can only help as by the law of mass effect you will have more visitors and more links and these contribute of course to your PR and the position within the index on specific topics. Your site would have different PR's for different topics and as a rough guide your analytics will show you the number of hits for a topic and you can relate that to the search query with your Clicky. It's reasonable to presume that a high hit rate for a given topic reflects the confidence that Google has in your information. You know how Clicky works and that can be tied in with webmasters to determine the best topics you have.

PS It looks as if Google is pulling the plug on listing search strings used. You probably have noticed that in Clicky with about 10 to 15% of blanks in that field. So it's back to the good old standby your key words.

yea, 300 a day goes mainly to ONE page... all because a popular searched term "human anatomy" at images.google.com pulls one of my images at like number 6 or something... therefore providing a lot of traffic - just to show how helpful alt text can be - and this one page provides a good 2 to 4 clicks a day on google adsense (providing an income) - although, still staying between $0.05 and $0.30 a day sometimes less. But more than it use to be.

Just to add a little to this....Bing/Yahoo for whatever reasons does count the age of a site along with the time ahead as Peter has said.

I do have to debate... how would you know? I was told by MANY AND MANY resources - to include google forums, that ONLY google ACTUALLY knows how their algorithm works, people can only assume.
