An idea for Yola

Hi All,

Just thinking about something that would be huge for Yola. Ok here it is..Yola Plugins...
Okay bare with me! Don't know what plugins are? Here's a definition: "Plugins are tools to extend the functionality of something (eg.Yola)".

This is something that that has worked very well for other services like Wordpress. There are plugins for simple things like contact forms, photo gallerys, polls, social bookmarking. Or for more complex things like ecommerce, forum, classifieds, mailing lists, comments, ads managment and anything you can think of.

This would be just great to have a plugin directory of sorts. Maybe people could get paid to develop them? This is just a suggestion, and I know this is nothing that's going to happen in a few weeks, it's more like a few years kind of think. But what are your thoughts?

Well, I wasn't sure it would be right linking to the site because it's kind of a competitor, but if you can't understand what I mean, here's an example of what I'm thinking of.

Hi Connor

This does sound like a good idea! I will let the developers know about it and see if we can start thinking along these lines.

How do you see this as different to our existing widgets? Are you wanting more options, or do you want them to function differently/ better?

Allowing anyone to write a widget or plugin for Yola would be cool. We have a way to go in our development to make this possible, but it is definitely something we would consider.

I would like to see this soon because the technology is accessible to Yola, why are plug-ins not available yet!?

We want membership login sites, and web 3.0 too...

Hello Uberlinks Org

Thank you for expressing that this is a feature that you would like to see. We are not able to commit to a time frame for when this will happen. We have a number of other things on our roadmap that we need to push out first. We will continue to let our Product Team know that this is a feature that is still desired.

I have a solution to the Yola User Login that will make the site a little more professional feeling, and also gives the site a personal touch for users.

It is a script that works on yola - capturing a cookie and displaying it.

Although it isnt the exact thing we are looking for it might be good enough.

I would recommend using it on your blog page only, or the page people read from most often, here is the link: http://www.uberlinks.org/blog/yola-si...
