We are currently experiencing a technical problem. Our engineers are working on it and we hope to have it resolved as soon as possible. We will update you as soon as we have any further news. We estimate that this problem will be solved in about half an hour. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I apologize for the annoyance, and can understand your frustration. I feel the same.

We have had a failure in the hardware of one of our servers. Luckily we plan for this so we are kicking the backup plan into place and then we should be good to go.

We do take a lot of effort to make sure that the inevitable failures that happen with hardware and networking can be resolved speedily and effectively, without any loss of data.

I can confirm that the same symptoms happened 2 days ago and we recovered things within an hour. Our data center assured us that all was well with the server. This time we are not taking their word for it and are switching over to a new server.

This kind of thing does not happen often, but the fact that it has happened twice in 3 days is something that we take seriously and will work hard to prevent in the future.

Here is a status update:

All your hosted sites are now up an available on a new server.

What is still not working is that ability to publish (update your site from the Site Builder) but we hope to have that fixed soon.

Well, I have a suggestion. If this error is going to happen in the future, why don't the synthasite engineers include a statement like this if a visitor access any synthasite made site " Site under construction. This may take half an hour. Sorry for the inconvenience". If this kind of statement is shown, then a visitor will go away without any frustration or anything. If not, the visitors will complain to us to our office etc. The thing is I have created my site for business purpose. Hope the synthasite team will agree to what I suggest. Anyway, I totally understand there will be technical errors, and synthasite is still great. You guys rock!!! :-D

That is a good suggestion. I will ask our developers whether it will be possible. Of course we want to make sure this doesn't happen, but it would be good to have something in place to minimize the impact on your visitors in the event that it does.

Mines back down again too. I very much agree with the suggestion that a disclaimer be posted when the sites go down. my site has gone down 4 times this week and each time I get flooded with calls and complaints about it. I do not have the staff or the time to deal with such massive amounts of complaints at one time and some sort of explanation on the site would go a long way to prevent it and make things look more professional to both my visitors and synthasite's web site holders.

Something, anything would be better than blank pages and connection timeout errors.

Hey guy's,

You're not heping the situation by complaining every 5 min.
Give the techies some time. I'm sure they are on top of it.
Show a little patience.

Hi guys,

We do know that intermittently, for the past week, during times of load people accessing your sites could get a blank page or a "500 Server Error". This does not last, and if they try again it will be back.

This issue is unrelated to the recent downtime that I was commenting on.

I absolutely acknowledge that this status quo is not good enough, and we are working very hard to resolve it. We have had engineers working on this all weekend and hope to give you good news on it soon.

We will fix it and return to our previous record of exceptional uptime.

The suggestion of a more informative message to your users is something that we will check out in terms of feasibility.

Thankyou very much for your response. I truely hope something can be done about a message during down times as i think it would benefit both us and you in terms of complaints when errors occur.
