Hello creative Yola fans,

We are happy to announce the Yola Style Designers Community. The goal of the community is to create a mechanism for designers to easily submit new Yola Styles, and if the Styles are approved by Yola, designers may earn money from their work. (Approval of Styles is at Yola's sole discretion and is subject to terms of the program.)

Check out the program at:

http://styledesigners.yola.com/

Some important points to keep in mind are:

* We are only looking for visual designs, in layered PSD format
* Everyone must follow our Design Guidelines
* Designs should keep in mind the Yola Audience
* We only pay for submissions if we accept the style (we only use accepted styles) - read more in our Terms and Conditions
* Images must be images you own either own all of the rights to, or stock images that you can direct us to, and that we can buy redistribution rights to. Images you find on the web and don't have redistribution licenses for are NOT acceptable.

We're very excited about this initiative and we look forward to your Yola Style design submissions!

Hi Mada,

Nice, something like this needed to come along. Good idea about not letting designers to put their logo or name on the design.

What is a good size to create the document in photoshop? Width 1024px height 1200px or what? I couldn't seem to see it mentioned.

Hi guys,

We don't mandate the size of your PSD but you should follow these guidelines:

- The resolution of your PSD should be screen resolution.
- Your design must work on a screen resolution of 950px wide. (your banner/content area can not have a width greater that that)
- Your style should be able to scale vertically with any amount of content.
- Your background must work with any width and height - depending on how you decide to tile the background you might need a PSD of larger width.

I am really excited to see your styles :) Please submit on the website an also send them to designers@yola.com.

Thanks.

A few quick questions.
1) Do we need to include any CSS for menus etc
2) Does each menu option have to be seperate (home a seperate section to news for example)
3)Is it okay to create the style in GIMP and save it as a PSD

Thanks

Under the guidelines it says we need to include at least 10 tags with our design. Could you give us some guidelines as to what these tags must be? Are they simply things like "Editable Banner Image", "Editable Background", etc, or is it something else? Thanks!

Hi Brandon,

You do not need to submit tags with your design. All that is required is a design in layered PSD format, a text file to describe your design, and any image resources or links to images used.
