Another great FREE website button generator. A Honey Bear Playhomes Tip...

This free online generator is not new but it is very useful for creating web 2.0 style buttons. The generator allows you to select 5 types of buttons with or without glass effects. Colors fonts and texts are fully adjustable for your button.

The generator also allows you to put a bevel and drop shadow filter on your buttons to give it some extra effect. Include a transparent background image scaled to fit and you have an all in one drag and drop button maker. Text font quantity leaves something to be desired but make the text bold, italic and add a drop shadow and it makes up for only having 12 fonts.

Square corners, round corners, diagonal, vertical or horizontal lines, thick lines, thin lines, multi-colored and just about anything that you wanted to do with a button maker.

It takes only a little while of playing around with it to figure it out and I am sure you will be a pro in no time at all.

The settings for the test buttons I created below were 600 width and 200 height, Text set to 75 (To make your text larger than the max 72 shown just highlight the text in the text editor, click on the text size and type 1 to 125 then hit enter on your keyboard then apply) With the buttons that large they can easily be scaled or reduced in size and still retain excellent resolution.

Things to keep in mind when using this generator that I learned through playing around with it myself...

1) If you get locked out and cannot edit your button simply click the "Filter" button and un-tick the Bevel and or Drop Shadow box and you will be able to once again edit your button.

2) Do not change the name of the image when you save it as this makes it save as a file and not as a PNG image. (You can change the name once you have it saved to your computer)

This thread here contains some really great PNG images with transparent backgrounds if you want to add some images to your buttons. http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/ano... I found the images of the balls there...

Happy site building

Well, where I live it's a lovely, sunny warm winter's day. Perhaps people are out enjoying the fresh air - it does seem a bit quiet.

So as the text choices are limited with this button generator I thought to combine one of my other favorite FREE generators with this new one... http://creatr.cc/creatr/ Only Pre-set 1 is able to make a transparent background logo/text and that is the one that you are going to need.

Simply type your text, choose a color (select both the same for a one color logo/text), choose size, adjust the mirror settings to your preference, select a badge (sun, star, square, circle or none), Set transparency to "Yes", Click "Create Logo" then right click the produced image to save to your computer and use as an image in the button generator above.
