Wondering if this has come into current view yet? (by all browsers and for all browsers for each link type offered.)

Hello Gop

Can you please specify what you mean by "link function"? Do you refer to creating links in our Blog feature?

Hello Gop

We're not sure what you mean. The link feature is there and works fine in Text and Picture Widgets on standard pages.

With regard to the Yola Blog feature, we're still busy working on making the link function work again for all browsers.

If that doesn't answer your question or if you have any problems accessing the link feature from our widgets, please let us know.

Try a pdf Stefan. With or without opening in a new page with Chrome.

The blog link has been out for several months. I've recommende numerous times to other users raising this issue to use HTML. The Yola response has been that it is on the waiting list for a fax. This is a very , very basic need and should be expedited with a builder like Yola where the promise is GUI placements.

Similarly the pdf issue for the standard page is very old also and I haven't seen any reference made to linking images etc with browsers other than IE. I don't know where this is up to?

Hello Gop

I still need to guess what you exactly mean, so I'll try to hit all options:
  • What is currently not working with Chrome is to display a PDF document linked to a page in Preview mode. We are busy working on a fix for this. This is not a dramatic error because the most important thing is what happens on the live site, and on the live site every PDF link option works fine as designed using Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer. After you have published, you will be able to check it on your live site. Here is a test site where you can check the 3 different possible PDF links: http://justfortesting.yolasite.com

  • The same goes for manually created PDF links in Chrome: The document will not open in Preview mode or produce a blank page at the moment, but is being dealt with.

  • If you mean the option to open in a new window, this is working fine for manually created PDF links. This option is however not included in the File Widget at the moment. You can use the manual option as a workaround.

Thank you for reminding us of this error and also of the link issue for Yola Blogs. They are on Yola's fix agenda, and we will know best how to prioritize these tasks.

No. Still not working on two sites test pages.

Text widget>Link>File Stored in this site>Browse>(select the pdf)>OK

Blank widget; blank preview; blank live.

Same for open in new window

Chrome 18.0.1025.162 m and FF11.0.

Thank you for telling us what is best also.

Pleasure, Gop, I wasn't telling all users, but you.

A colleague and I were both not able to replicate the error you're reporting. You can check my test site again where I added the links according to your instructions above. Everything works fine on our end with regard to the live site, in all 4 supported browsers. Can you please check my test site and let us know if it doesn't work for you?

If the issue should persist even on my test site, please let us know the URL of the test sites that you created in order to check if there is a problem within the account.

Do you mean this test site, my leader?

Just a word about the way you addressed Stefan here. This is the second time that I have noticed you refer to him as "my leader". The first time you deleted it, but I saw it on the GS notification. I therefore feel duty bound to address it. I am sure you did not mean it this way because I have too much respect for your character and ethics to believe that you would do something like this deliberately, but this comes across as a racial slur and a reference to the title used for Adolf Hitler. You may have gathered from Stefan's name that he is German so this is pretty hurtful. I also want to add that Stefan hasn't taken offense at all and didn't want me to say anything, but I am disturbed on his behalf. Again I really don't believe that you intended this, but I hope that you will appreciate me addressing it directly rather than allowing it to fester and that you will address him by his name in future.

I accept the admonishment and can only say that wasn't my intention. It was however meant with an impersonal sting.

Apologies Stefan.

It won't let me upload a PDF file. When I load to the file manager it says 100%, but doesn't show up. It is a file that is a page and half long. How can this be solved?

Hello John

At the moment some of our users experience the issue that their files will not be displayed in their Yola File Manager. We are busy working on this error. It seems that the only problem is that the files are not visible in File Manager, but they are on the users' sites.

Can you please try something as a workaround:
Please upload your PDF file using the File Widget or the link feature in a Text Widget. If it says "file exists, do you want to overwrite?", choose "yes". You should then at least see your PDF file or the link to your PDF File respectively on your page.

Please let us know if this doesn't work on your end.

When I click the "test site" link Stefan shared above I see the site pictured below, not an error page.

It looks like you added the URL as an extension of our forum but it's actually a separate website: http://justfortesting.yolasite.com/

Please let me know if I have misunderstood your reply Gop.

I added nothing Laura. If you have a look at the URL you will see its quite complex. A click link is the way to go and that's what appeared last night.

My statement clearly was about a link created by the use of the text widget. That is still not working for me. It's not an issue of non-useability but rather the issue of user convenience. As mentioned to thea man I am unable to get it to work in Chrome or FF. The answer is given so I will recommend this method to users and advise people that the link facility for files of all types is now working but not the long standing issue of the blog links etc. OK?

I wrote in a few days back with a problem on editing. That still seems to be a work in progress (I hope). Now another situation The links on my sites do not work. This is getting annoying to say the least. Even though I and others are likely working on your free site we still do depend your service. I am certainly considering looking elsewhere. And that is really to bad because for the last few years I have really received outstanding service from Yola. It has been a joy working with you. We'll se what happens .... John
