Does anyone know of a good slideshow viewer?
I need one with "forward" and "backward controls" at the bottom.
I've tried half a dozen now and the best one I found so far is
http://www.ricocheting.com/js/slide2....

This one works great when you view it in your site, but when you
go back to synthasite's site editor to add more pic's, the page never
stops loading. The only thing you can do is delete the page and start again.
Luckily I created a test page to test this code.

Buddy look at the Google Picasa photo slideshow

It handles huge pics and loads quick with all the functions you asked for...Plus after like 3 seconds it hides the controls to make it look better. Plus if you put the code in a widgetbow widget you can center it and adjust the code to change the size of the viewer on your page

Do you have a google account?

Hey you look at my site lately?

Whats your 2 cents?

Howzit bud,

Google Picasa ?? - does it generate the html code for you?
I do have a google acc. - remember our google webmaster chat the other night?

I looked at your site about 1 hour ago. - Been following your posts
and following the improvements to your site.
I really like the mouse overs - playing with this it at the moment.

Your scrolling text at the top of my browser (FF) froze my whole
session - Had to Ctrl Alt Del.
Only did it once though - Could be my side?

hmmm froze is not good I think I will remove it anyway because yes it may be your computer but once is too much for me...

You download the free Picasa program and make your slideshow with the program and then download the pics to their server and they give you the code to insert into the widgetbox widget. Google has more bandwidth and the images load much faster then others...

I wanted to have "links" on the pictures in the slideshow.
Can Picasa do this - doubt it?

Hi Boomer,

In case you'd like to try Google Picasa, here's some info that may help.

To create and embed a slideshow:
1. Sign in to your Google Account for Picasa Web Albums at http://picasaweb.google.com using your Google Account username and password.
2. Click the 'My Photos' link and select the album you'd like to make a slideshow.
3. Click the 'Embed Slideshow' link. This creates a Flash slideshow from the album you've selected. When you update this album, your slideshow is automatically updated to show the latest photos.
4. To embed the slideshow, copy the HTML code that's shown, drop an HTML widget onto your page and paste the code into the HTML editor.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Marije,

Busy experimenting at the moment.
What I would like to do is link each photo in the slideshow
to an external url. Do you know if this can be done with Picasa,
or do I need to look at some other software?

Hi Boomer - tried to find out on Google's Picasa page, but I can only find this link http://picasa.google.com/support/bin/....

They also give this tip: Once it's embedded into your site, people viewing your slideshow can click the person icon to go to your public gallery.

There's also flickrslidr? Here's the link: http://flickrslidr.com. They also provide HTML embed code to add to your page. I did test it quickly and it works.

Chief I haven't drank in some 5 years but the thought was nice...

However the Marine Corps Birthday is coming up soon and I may have 1 beer then just for the moment...

Hey get a load of my site my friend and tell me what you think.

You always seem to have some thoughtful insights and I get a kick out of your enthusiasm...
